Yet-to-be-identified gunmen kidnapped the wife and son of Chief Gbalipre Turner, the state
treasurer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa state.
They were abducted from their family home in Opume, Ogbia Local Government Area. The
develpment was confirmed by the Bayelsa Police Command.
The kidnappers are yet to make contact with the family.
The PDP chieftain is the younger brother of King Amalate Turner, the Obanema of Opume
Kingdom.
It is to be noted that President Goodluck Jonathan hails from Ogbia, where a sister of one of his
aides, Oronto Douglas, faced a similar fate last month.
