Job Summary:

The primary purpose is to direct the activities of the Plant’s Production Department through the shift supervisors. Also to provide required Process Engineering on a Plant Level. This position participates in the overall administration of the plant. Partly responsible for operations, as well as manufacturing support functions; Engineering, Planning and Maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:
• Assist the Head of Operations in the day to day operations of a multi-shift production facility
• Co-ordinate and direct the staff members regarding the activities that need to be performed in the absence of the Head of Operations.
• Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets in conjunction with the Head of Operations.
• Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital in conjunction with the Head of Operations.
• Reviews the production, quality, operations and maintenance reports to know the pros and cons related to production work.
• To maintain, compile, store and retrieve any data and information related to Production along with the Head of Operations
• Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed customers’ expectations (e.g Service Level Agreements).
• Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and adhoc basis, depending on need.
• Implement different ideas to provide innovative operating procedures and methods to eliminate obstacles in production processes and improve the quality after discussing with the Head of Operations. .
• Improve manpower utilization within existing units and processes. Schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies.
• Continually improve safety records by addressing both physical safety and employee safety attitudes.
• Maintain and improve house-keeping in all areas
Candidate Requirements:
• An HND or degree in any Science or Engineering background
• Candidate must possess a minimum of 5years technical competence in Operations management in the manufacturing industry
• Strong leadership skills, independent, confident and articulate.
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
• Excellent Time Management and Organizational Skills.
