Snapchat is a visual photo messaging application developed by Stanford University students, that let's users take photos, record videos, add text and drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients.These sent photographs and videos are known as "Snaps".recipients. Users set a time limit for how long recipients can view their Snaps (as of November 2013, the range is from 1 to 10 seconds), after which they will be hidden from the recipient's device and deleted from Snapchat's servers.

snapchat was recently rumored to have received a $3 billion buyout offer from facebook and also google tried a $4 billion offer for snapchat as well by the co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel.

Snapchat is very suitable for selfies and makes photo sharing more fun and safer for teens and youths. many young folks say facebook is a public space for them now because most of them got their parents on facebook which as hindered their privacy.So lots of young people find security and more fun on snapchat.Snapchat uses a view timing algorithm of not more than 10 seconds for a moment that won't stay in the digital space forever.

users send funny and unflattering pictures of themselves to each other via Snapchat for laughs.since the pictures disappear, and you can just send them like you'd send a text. i.e you can type right on the image before sending it. I see snapchat as a youngful social networking app and a safer sexting app. :-)

So if you want or wish to share pictures or notes with specific friends that you wouldn't like to post on facebook or instagram, that is something you don't want to keep forever...something that disappears in less than 10 seconds then 'snapchat' is your app of choice.
