For months,some of the pensioners of Oyo state have been crying to the governor of Oyo state for the payment of their entitlements,but have always been calmed down,always referring to a 5.6 bn naira local government pension fund scam.
Will that solve their problem?The government should look for money.
WHEN WILL THEY RECIEVE THEIR ENTITLEMENTS?
Yes,the government is trying,but needs to take care of the old and aged,especially the retired teachers and retired civil servants.
How?
*Pay the retirees early.
*Give their children bursaries,NOT JUST SCHOLARSHIPS for a select few.
*Give old people,who are not entitled to any form of pension, MONTHLY ALLOWANCES
*Establish Geriatric Centres,not just health centres,where these old people can be properly taken care of.
*Establish old people's homes for those of them who are destitutes.

When the government does these,it shall receive the blessings of the greyhaired.
