I am about to paint the interiors of my aprtment and i happen to be someone who likes white interior walls. I lived in Egypt for a while and i am still amazed at the beauty of the interior walls which are mostly white and oil based. I noticed this is rare in Nigeria as most interior walls are painted with water based paint.

For those who knows better i would like to know if there are certain reasons why it is not advisable to use oil based paint for interior walls.

Well someone told me it retains heat in the room but i wasn't conviced since Egypt has a hotter climate during summer and the rooms are never so hot.
