Consider this set of landmarks. It was 41 years ago when Newcastle United last won at Old Trafford. It was 35 years ago when West Brom last won at Old Trafford .It was 21 years ago when Everton last won at Old Trafford. It was 11 years ago when Manchester United last lost back-to-back home games. It was 31 years ago when Manchester United last competed solely on a domestic front. Four of those records no longer stand today and, as a consequence, the fifth looks set to topple also. Everton and Newcastle were the long overdue victors at the Theatre of Dreams last week. The same venue is fast turning into the Theatre of Nightmares for David Moyes; his horror is a recurring one. Ferguson started on a low too. Although that is not a good reason to keep him anyway because other teams are busy making their team stronger. He should be allowed to make good signings and then he can be judged critically because this United team lack depth. |
