For those that are knowledgeable about the laptop/desktop market in Nigeria, are people really buying laptops based on maker's name alone? Or are they also looking at the specs and factoring that into their decision? I understand if you want to avoid those fly-by-night Chinese imitation but how much does brand name figure into the decision?

I'm curious, what laptop brands do people prefer? And what brands do people stay away from? Thanks.
