Engineers. Please I notice that in most cases the calculated area is not actually used for a pad foundation on site. Eg for just a two storey building with 7 rooms each 4.5 by 3.2m I am getting something in the range 1300 * 1300 * 400. The issue is on site I don't think they would ever dig this much for a two storey. Please what's your opinion. What dimensions can I possibly use in this situation. Thanks |

There is nothing outrageous about the area you got as long as you transferred your load approprately. But hope you used the servicerblility limit load and not the ultimate load to calculate the required area. 1 Like |
