if two people attended; A and B, there'll be one handshake.

if three people attended; A, B and C.

round A:

A shakes B, A shakes C = 2 shakes.

round B:

B shakes A (already recorded), B shakes C =1 shake.

round C:

C shakes A (recorded), C shakes B(recorded) = 0 shake.


2 + 1 + 0 = 3 shakes in total.




if four people attended; A, B, C and D.

round A:

A shakes B, A shakes C, A shakes D = 3 shakes.

round B:

B shakes A (already recorded), B shakes C, B shakes D =2 shakes.

round C:
