Jerry E. Uhuo holds a Ph.D in Political Science and Social Sciences of the University of Stuttgart, Germany, a Master’s Degree in Political Science (International Relations) from the University of Ibadan and a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from Pontifical Urban University, Rome. Uhuo was born and brought up from Anyagharaigwe village of Amofia Ukawu Community in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi state of Nigeria. His birthday is 21st September.
He is a staff of the National Assembly, Abuja. He had worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Ibadan, Research Co-ordinator of the Foundation for Economics Education (FEE) under the Department of Economics, University of Ibadan. In the National Assembly, he has served as Desk Officer of the European Union/Federal Government of Nigeria Democracy Programme Supporting National and State Houses of Assembly (2005), Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Technical Support to the National Assembly and Pioneer Editor-In–Chief of the National Assembly Legislative Digest (an official publication of the National Assembly of Nigeria).

He served in the Secretariat of the Planning Committee for the Hosting of the 52nd Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Abuja, Nigeria, 2006. He was a Senior Legislative Aide to Distinguished Senator Vincent Obasi Usulor of the blessed memory (1999-2003). As a journalist, he had served as Deputy Editor in Chief to the African Verdict Magazine and Contributing writer to over ten National Newspapers and Magazines in Nigeria.
He has been involved in environmental issues since 2005. At the National Assembly, he has over the years worked very closely with the Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology in initiating and implementing environmental programmes through which legislation on environmental issues is proposed to the Legislature. He is a resource person and has presented papers in many International fora in Europe and America including the annual conference organized by the Journal of Solid Waste Technology and Management of the Widener University Philadelphia, USA. He has been a member of the Journal Solid Waste Technology and Management Widener University, Philadelphia, USA for the past eight years. Uhuo has attended several courses, seminars and conferences within Nigeria as part of capacity building for the discharge of his official duties. He has travelled widely and has enormous experience in various areas of research and administration.
He founded a non-governmental organization for youth education called Civil Society Initiative for Youth Development which promotes Youth education at the grass root level and carries out voter education during elections as part of democratic consolidation in Nigeria
His philosophy is to strive to leave a legacy of excellence, be a skilled and motivated team player and to provide the most sort after services in an environment driven by merit and competitiveness.
