Religous War. Nigeria And The Curse Of Tokunbo Religions by plaetton: 3:03pm On Dec 24, 2013
Since Independence in 1960, The word "Unity" has been the most spoken word for all of Nigeria's leaders. Most of us began to hear it, say it, and sing it even before we knew the meaning. It was for the sake of unity, to remain united, that we had a civil war in this country where over a million people died and many more suffered.

On the other side, as children, the phrase " Love your neighbor as yourself" had also been drummed into our little heads at sunday school.
This was a golden commandment from Jesus, as a requirement for salvation. This was long before most of us ever heard of the aposle Paul, who contradicted that commandment of Jesus by urging the followers of his own brand of christianity that they should not be equally yolked to unbelievers( Another way of saying that you should not love your neighbor is they don't share your beliefs). .

This statement by Apostle Paul is probably the most bigotted, the most hateful, and the most divisive commandment ever written by a religious.
leader.
For 2000 years, the destructive impact of that poisonous injuction has left trails of hatred, wars and various atrocities of against another.

For Africans, whose primitive minds are yet to ween themselves from blindfaith religion, Pauls' injunction remains one of the last strongholds , and a platform for the legitimization of hatred and discrimination.

Nigeria, in this current era, faces a myriad of social, economic and political problems. As we all try so much to put our heads together, it seems that no matter how much we try to forge along, no matter how much we try to put aside our ethnic difference( which are actually superficial to our innate humanity) , it seems that religion, yes, good old religion, the Pauline churchianity of the dark ages , is introducing a new dimension into our already divided and fractured unity as a people.

Weeks ago, One of our celebrated fools ( we celebrate fools) , a certified parasite and clown who is satiated with corruptly acquired affluence, throw public bomb at 50 million(minimum) Nigerian Catholics, and 1.2 billion worldwide.
He publicly threw a hate bomb at them, calling them sinners, idolators and condemning them all to hell.
His reason?
Well, I suppose because Catholics don't subscribe to his own brand of bling bling theology.

Yesterday, it was the turn of Kumuyi, another parasite and leader of his own family-owned bullshyt mountain, condemning christmas, the celebration of it , and all those who celebrate it.

Now, almost on a daily basis, we hear this or that pastor condemning this or that group of people.
What is going on this country?
Are these parasites of society, these narcissistic maggots now so drunk with the power they wield of over their personal zombies, that they feel a compelling need to reach out and hate someone?.

They are behaving like drunks and addicts.

"Reach out and condemn your neighbor"

Is this the new message from their Jesus?

To all, Christians, pentecostals, Catholics, Jw ,as well as the non-religious, are you all seeing a new dimension to hatred and intolerance , or am I being paranoid?
Our leaders are preaching unity, and the religious sects are publicly preaching the opposite.

Isn't it time the government steps in to censor hate speech that threaten peaceful co-existence and unity?

N:B

It is worth reminding everyone that African Tradition religions never ever threatens anyone, never forces its beliefs on others, and never condemns anyone for non-belief or in the way they practice their own beliefs.

African traditional beliefs promote peace, not only between man and his neighbor , but between man and his environment.

These tokunbo religions that came to us through swords, blood, hate and robberies, have fractured our humanity and our souls.

You are ignorant of scripture, and using the position of scripture that you mostly do not even believe or subscribe to to argue your point.

And what you said about african traditional religion is a lie.

Men will continue to disagree. On religious matters, on irreligious matters. Men will continue to be wicked. Human nature is very imperfect.

Some of the very leaders who call for unity, propagate hatred and dispensions among their following. Resorting to vile means of blackmail and bloodshed. This is a known fact.

Liar

You missed the horrible statements Jesus hauled out or probably you ignored it as it doesn't polish your ideology.

Jesus said you should hate your father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and your own life before you can be his disciple. This is the kind of Hateful ministry you people imported. It whole lot of hatred.

Pick up the bible again and read through. Accepting Jesus christ mean you should disperse your families with hatred and wish them death. There are many quotes from Jesus which doesn't encourage honouring of one's parents. Africa is a continent of many families....in millions. When hatred spark out in a family from christian convert, compare it to the number of converts today. That mean the whole continent is plagued with hatred, self-righteousness, greediness and disorganization. It is a known fact picking quotes from Jesus that he didn't have honour for parents and didn't value the family as a whole. The apostles also pointed out this and lots are found in the old testament.

There is also where he said his message would cause division among the family. Bible apart, dont you see the disorganization and misunderstanding in our society today? We have more than 40,000 christian sect and denominations contraditing, bashing and hating each other. It is kinda hard to find a Deeper life member worshipping in Celestial church. Catholic against protestants and other orthodox churches. MFM forming holier than thou while Redeem see Daddy G.O as saint and others are cultist. The Jehovah witness believing hatefully that ya all will be destroyed while CAC believing other sect will roast in hell. Each sect wishing other sect bad thing. Respect for self, family members and societal culture is lost.

Do you want me to go into household? Wife hardly kneeling down for her husband but roll on floor for pastor. Parents damning their children which they suffered before getting for abandoning their religion. Christians cant marry muslim and vice versa. Christians cant help or work with pagans. The worst is for those that are happy that there parents, children and neighbours are going to hell while they enjoy in heaven. Where is love and tolerance in this? This is practical view of what is in the bible and has infested the whole continent.

I agree with you there are some form of disagreement within Africans before Tokunbor Hatred Religion came in. But this is at the lowest margin.

Is it slavery you want to bring up? Slaves in Africa before the wicked ones came was likely bond labourers either of debt or war captive or crime. It was not brutal and the slave are mostly see as families which can inherit properties, labour for freedom, marry at will and have his own time.

- War is the basis of expansion and more political than religion or spirituality. Lot of treaties are meant and society build compassionate structure. Example is Ekiti.....like I heard, they are not original Yoruba tribe.

- In Spirituality or Religion. The game is if you believe in my divinities, worship with me. If you dont believe in them, dine with me. Ogun worshipper celebrating Ijala can do that with aworo Sango. An Igbo or Gambari can join the family engaging in spiritualism with them. Marriage turns you in completely without any problem. This same measure can not be said for christianity and Islam. It is whole lot of hatred.

no actually. No amount of trying to interpret will change anything. I'm sure you've had the interpretations of many of those shady scriptures. But you'll still deny. So go on shouting and hailing yourselves in your ignorance. I have nothing else to say to you. You're obviously a very biased human being, who will do anything to paint christianity as bad, make any claim to tarnish any image.
