The Lebanese industrialist who was abducted in Kano on Monday, December 23, 2013, was yesterday found abandoned on the outskirt of the city.

Kano State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Musa Magaji Majia, made this known in a press statement.
“The Kano state police command wishes to inform the general public that since the abduction of Mr. Hassan Zaid, a Lebanese nationale of Sharada Industrial Area, the command blocked all exits at both major and minor roads to ensure that the captors did not leave Kano.

“As the search was vigorously intensified, today, Friday, 27th of December, 2013, at about 0900hrs, Mr. Hassan was found by a team of policemen abandoned unhurt on the outskirt of Sharada. He has been reunited with his family. No arrest has been made yet. Investigation is on top gear with a view to arresting the fleeing perpetrators of the act,” the statement said, and that “no ransom whatsoever was paid.”

It would be recalled that unknown gunmen trailed Mr. Zaid to his plastic company in the early hours of Monday and abducted him after shooting two people.
