But, your assumption is wrong when you said 'there wasn't lecturers to set cutoff' because of last year ASUU strike. Admission thingy is handled by non academic staffs not Lecturers and they weren't on strike. Wasn't there strike when they wrote P.utme, set cutoff and release first list  |

HouseOfBalloons: . There is nothing dynamic here. They stopped using o levels after 2011 in order to give opportunities to those with awaiting result. They used only jamb for invitation in 2012 for those with awaiting result and combined jamb/o levels for those with o levels in a 50/50 ratio unlike the former 40/60 ratio. In 2013, my theory is that they planned on using the cut off points for invitation but the strike scattered their plans as there was not enough staff to do the cut off thingy due to the ASUU stuff. Remember last yr's putme was written late Sept cos of the strike, so they said f?ck it and invited everybody. This yr, there has been no strike and if you noticed, they didn't announce the post ume date immediately unlike other schools. Why? Because after submissions, na cut off calculation time which may be up to 3 wks after submissions. My point is last year might just be a one off so let's not assume that jamb scores won't play a part in this yr's admissions. TL;DR putme invitation cut off marks is a REAL possibility this year, dont write it off Hold it man. If they would still use another criteria to determine those who would sit for the post utme, ui would have said so. Get what I'm saying. In 2012 it was in the registration information that after registration, "names of the invited candidates will be displayed on ui's website from so so date, nd emails nd texts will be sent to the invited candidates" nd they did that with the release of the cut off points for each courses. Nd so they did they didn't invite all. 2013 They also said the same thing that invited candidates will be posted on the university's website around middle of july. But they didn't say what they would use to invite sha. But strike started july 1st. They first removed the date of when the invited candidates will be shown, thinkin they would reschedule after the mayb like 2 weeks strike. But since it wasn't rectified they settled for sept. Nd they invited all. 2014 They just told us that "the candidates that are duly registered will acess their screening details on the admissions portal at a later date(we dnt knw it can even be october sef)" nd that should mean if u are registered they are inviting u. To be eligible to apply: you must satisfy the three under listed eligibility criteria: 1. Must have chosen UI either as first, or second or both choice in the 2012 UTME. 2. Must have obtained a minimum of 200 in the 2012 JAMB exams, to be proved by your Original JAMB Result Slip. 3. Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age by October 2012. They didn't mention anything about shortlisting in the 2012 announcement yet they used it. There not mentioniing it in the announcement doesn't mean they won't do it |
