_NIGERIANS' NEW YEAR_
You dont need to be told that it's the end of a year,
Cos you see people here and there.
Women-in different groups, gather round the markets,
They buy and sell to make the new year perfect.
Youths clear bushes and grasses,
They also clean and paint their houses.
House-wives clean and arrange their rooms,
Like a Bride awaiting her Groom.
Carefulness was the order of the year's last day,
Till the night arrived 'like-play,like-play'.
Lo! anxiousness filled the air,
The clock's tick-tack boldly increased the fear.
Like a husband awaiting his first child,
Were the feelings of what the next 'tack' would be like.
T-taaa! Jumps, shouts and cries of joy echoed round the atmosphere,
Behold, IT'S A NEW YEAR!

_NEW YEAR_
Here comes a new year,
Full of light and glory.
Last year is now a story,
That upcoming generations will wish to hear.

A new year is like a new born baby,
Still clean and fresh.
Dont let the pain of last year make you depressed,
Buckle down for there's possible victory.

New year, new system as they say,
Is to try and bring out new ideas,
That will be useful in every areas.
Be creative and dont use all the year to play.
Happy New Year!
