A lot of times people talk about how dangerous self medication is, lets be realistic most of us indulge in this, but looking at this from a different point of view, i actually think its a necessary habit, for instance you dont espect me to go for treatment in the hospital just because i have a minor headache, catarrh, cough or other minor ailment, first, the average nigerian can not afored it. Even some public hospitals will not take you seriously if you walked in and say, i came for treatment to cure my catarrh. By the way do you expect ladies to visit the hospital each time they see their period and are not feeling well, hell no, not when they can take a simple drug from a chemist, besides you know how it will sound if a lady walks into a hospital and when asked what is wrong she says "am seeing my period" with there i say self edication is necessary, although it can be abused but we cant do without it
