New year, new 'do. Miley Cyrus recently appeared on the cover of UK publication Love Magazine and decided to try out a new hairstyle. The pop star, who oft takes to Twitter to document the length of her hair, looks fierce with a pink mohawk and minimal makeup.

Wearing a high orange collar and with “love” faintly penned on the inside of her right ear, Miley looks all kinds of rock star in the picture taken by celebrated photographer David Sims.

Faintly colored a reddish-pink, her mohawk adds an extra bit of hardcore style and has us thinking that if Miley went a little crazier with the hair dye and dabbed on some face paint, she could totally pass as Ziggy Stardust. Maybe next Halloween, Miles.

The mohawked image will appear on Love’s March 2014 issue and marks the latest chapter in Miley’s many hairstyles of 2013. To review: She’s flaunted a sleek blonde bob, twerked out in mini-buns, worn a couple pastel-colored wigs here and there, and kept us on pins and needles as she grows out her shorn style.

Girlfriend has already told the world how excited she is for the new year — “So ready for 2014,” she tweeted December 29 — and she’s ringing it in with a bang by performing live in Times Square. What might 2014 hold for Miley in terms of hair? She’s not saying but if Miley has anything to say about it, you can bet your extensions it’ll be wild.
