Technology is really advancing at the speed of light with countries in europe and asia currently leading the pack. Africa is currently lagging behind and are dependent on already existing technological advancement for survival. Although the reason could be that most of the countries in africa are ''Developing Countries'' , however , there are still some african countries in the fore front of technological advancement.

7. Uganda



Suprised to see uganda on this list? According to a report by [url=http://martinprosperity.org/media/GCI%20Report%20Sep%202011.pdf]Martin Prosperity Institute of the US[/url] uganda is one of the top 3 countries in africa with the capability to advance technologically. In the report , South Africa is top followed by uganda and then madagascar. Also , uganda is the 82nd country with tecnological advancement capability in the world.

6. Botswana



Botswana is one of the countries with great potentials in the tech field. The botswana government has an innovation project called Botswana’s Innovation Hub which is designed to throw start-ups, global corporations, and research and health organizations under one massive green roof to facilitate the growth of technology in the country. Botswana also has one of the most stable economies in africa.

5. Kenya



Kenya is one of the top 5 african countries to be reckoned with in the tech field. The country has seen lots of startups in the recent years and has attracted investors from other countries. Some innovations from kenya includes Kasha, Mocality, alarm-fitted television created by a 44-year-old man who resides in Nairobi.

4. Ghana



Ghana has a much more stable economy for international tech companies to invest in. Over the last few years ghana has seen lots innovations from its citizens. Some of which includes Using compressed gas to generate electricity invented by Mr Freddie Green is one of the out of the box thoughts that became real in the country. An affordable video conferencing system was also developed by a Ghanaian.

3. Nigeria



As the giant of africa , much is expected from nigeria and to some extent nigeria has lived up to the expectation. Nigeria has not beenleft out in technological advancement. Some of innovations by nigerians includes the famous demonstration of a urine powered generator developed by school teenagers; a Moringa plant technology that would enable Nigerians to use Moringa plant for water treatment, toward increasing the accessibility to portable water in the country. The list of discoveries that are worth mentioning are quite enormous. Linux Ubuntu developed by Mark Shuttleworth, Multichoice (DSTV) is a south african company with a global influence, Thawte which was eventually acquired by Verisign now owned by Symantec, PayPal which was co-founded by a South African who also founded SpaceX and Tesla Motors, CAT scan, SASOL technology that converts coal into oil just to mention a few.
