New Laptops come with Windows Vista. Windows Vista operating system is still under examination. It makes use of a lot of memory, it selects software and there are other things associated with Vista which makes people want to change to Windows XP. I must commend you. You know ur chips. Keep it up. But which kin internet u dey use to download all those heavy files. I use EVDO and to download movies (bout 700mb) takes like 2-3 weeks.

Sojioguns, i use starcomms evdo. i downloaded tht XP wit SATA i posted above last night. . . took about 2 hours or so, the file size is about 618MB.
700MB taking two weeks makes me think ur evdo card is actually connecting u as a 1x user, tht's most likely because there isn't evdo coverage in ur location. Check to confirm u are connected as evdo and not 1x.

it is evdo. the modem i use is d 1st usb modem starcomms had. blue box with power adapter.

then your connetion has a problem. inasmuch as i hate to to give going to their office as an option, i think that's wht u  need to do, wht other choice do we have? can u show a screenshot showing wht confirms u're connected as evdo?

I have been there to update firmware. It really isnt that bad but i gues i dislike d modem. I actally makes my system hang.
