The Parade was to start at 11am. No it wasn’t b/c of African time. Lol  It didn’t start until 12:30 - 1 p.m. Due to the United Nations,  Its route was down 2nd Ave btwn 54th and 46th st to Nigerian House.

More young people attended the Parade then Adults this year.  Most were there with friends in groups. Even the rain couldn’t stop them from showing up. It was said 2 be

Heavy rain showers threw out the day. As I walked around You could hear people greeting each other some in old tradition to bow to there elders or friends. As I sat on the

Bench eating my food “jollof rice, stew chicken and plantains" which I shared with a 3 yr old I didn’t know. I over heard two women scream old friends who had not seen each

other since grade school in Nigeria. They hugged as if the would never see each other again. It brought tears to my eyes.  Most young people danced and talked about what
