I have design a pedestrian bridge manually before, it is not that hard because it is a structural work, all u need is the BS codes and know the material to use.

for example, most of our bridge are made of pre cast element or composite element. for the precast element u have to understand design of pre stress concrete and for the composite element u need to get the bridge design manual for guild.

it is always better to learn the manual design first before the computer aided desi gn
