A rapidly growing group of companies, with the Head Office based in Lagos and branches and division accross some States in Nigeria in search of qualified/experienced Group Accountant for immediate employment.

Job Profile:
Will ensure proper record-keeping for different arms of the business; provide daily cash-flow statements and weekly balance sheets; advise management on funding requirements and write feasibility reports on projects: supervise and ensure that weekly, monthly and quarterly reports are provided for each arm of the business; ensure regulatory returns and liaise with external auditors/government authorities.


Job Responsiblities
• Lead a large team of Accountants spread across a growing Group and subsidiary structure, this role is concerned with providing a high
standard of accurate and timely subsidiary and consolidated accounting and financial information to the management.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and other statutory requirements in the areas of operation is mandatory.
• Ensure accurate and timely production of the monthly accounts.
• Generate monthly Group Operating Reports, forecasts, half and full year statutory accounts, annual Group budget and Divisional budget
presentation schedules, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, relevance, good presentation and compliance with group.
• Oversee the reconciliation/balance and confirm accuracy of the balance sheet. Maintenance and update of the systems and processes.
• To be responsible for all aspects of budgeting, closedown and in-year monitoring for the service /budget areas under the control of the
post-holder’s team
• To ensure that the Group complies (financially) with statutory requirements/accounting standards and best practice guidance including the
completion and submission of statutory returns in accordance with statutory guidance.
• To work closely with the Division Accountants, external auditors in relation to accountancy issues. The post holder will deal directly with
the external auditors on a number of accountancy-based issues on behalf of the Group.
• Constantly provide financial advice to Management, senior managers, budget holders and staff members throughout the year including
facilitating training sessions and workshops as required.
• To create and develop complex financial models to facilitate the continued development of budgeting monitoring and budget modeling at
the Authority. To ensure that the appropriate internal controls are in place and that high quality, accurate reconciliation’s are undertaken
and certified.

Requirements
• HND / BSc qualification required
• ICAN certification
• Minimum of 8-10 years' progressive experience in a trading, manufacturing, construction, facilities management and/or estate organization.
• Competence in MS Office Excel.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills
• Exposure to IFRS and a preference for those with expertise in Nigerian Tax laws
• Strong knowledge of finance and capital raising process
• Excellent business analysis, financial analysis and modeling skills
• Adept use of Microsoft Office, Peachtree, Sage and relevant accounting software
