Good morning folks
Good morning one and all and welcome to today's Transfer LIVE festivities.

Finally the transfer window swung fully open yesterday, and some clubs wasted little time in making their presence known, with Newcastle announcing the signing of Siem de Jong and Chelsea confirming that they've agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid that will see Diego Costa on his way to Stamford Bridge.

Also, Barcelona began their charm offensive towards Liverpool bad-boy Luis Suarez, and there's been plenty of eye-fluttering elsewhere from both players and clubs.

With the World Cup taking a break until Friday, transfer deals are taking centre-stage today, so kick up your feet - wherever you are - and stick with us for all the latest info and done deals.

Ready?

Suarez for starters
Liverpool will open transfer talks with Barcelona over Luis Suarez in the next 24 hours - but will insist that Alexis Sanchez is part of any deal.

The Kop club's MD Ian Ayre has agreed to meet a delegation from Barcelona in London on Wednesday to begin talks.

The Reds are prepared to sell Suarez following his four-month ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini, but will tell Barca to forget about trying to land the Uruguay striker on the cheap.

They value Suarez at £80million and will accept £50m if Chile World Cup forward Sanchez is included in the deal.

However it is understood Sanchez is not keen on moving to Anfield and would prefer a switch to Arsenal if he does leave the Catalan giants.

Mini Messi moves
Sporting Lisbon have confirmed the signing of Dundee United youngster Ryan Gauld for a fee in the region of £3million.

The 18-year-old has signed a six-year deal with the Portuguese club, meaning he will line up in this year's Champions League for Marco Silva's men.

Scotland under-21 international Gauld has been a revelation for the Tangerines since his breakthrough in 2012, earning himself the nickname "mini-Messi" and last season made 38 appearances, scoring eight goals.

Liverpool round up
According to The Times, Dejan Lovren is the latest Southampton player who could make the switch from the south coast to Anfield.

The Croatian centre-back increased his reputation with solid performances at the World Cup, despite giving away the penalty which gave Brazil the win in the opening fixture.

Brendan Rodgers is reportedly keen on the 24-year-old, who would become the third Saints player to make the switch to Liverpool.

For that and more on the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko, Serge Aurier and a trio of Swansea players

Arsenal round up
Porto striker Jackson Martinez says he "would say yes" to a summer move to the Emirates Stadium.

The 27-year-old Colombian has notched 60 goals in 91 games for his current club and has been linked with a big money summer move.

And the forward, who prior to his arrival in Europe plied his trade in Mexico, has revealed that he was a boyhood Arsenal fan, according to the Daily Express.

He told reporters in Brazil: "I know that there have been discussions, but still no agreements.

"My agent is taking care of my future, right now I'm at the World Cup and only after the World Cup I'll evaluate proposals.

"As a child I cheered for Arsenal, they play a game that suits me. If I had the occasion to play there, I would say yes."

Manchester United round up
According to Metro, Man United boss Louis van Gaal is set to make a final £20million bid for highly-rated centre-back Mats Hummels.

Borussia Dortmund are wanting to hold on to the 24-year-old, who has been on the of the stars of their rapid rise in European football over the past few seasons.

However, Van Gaal has sanctioned a take-it-or-leave-it bid of over £20million, which is said to be submitted by end of the week.

The Red Devils are keen to bring in numerous figures to bolster their back line and have also registered interest in Stefan de Vrij and Thomas Vermaelen.

Sporting Lisbon have told Manchester United they can have target William Carvalho for £37million.

That is the value of Carvalho's release clause and Sporting say they will not stand in his way if United want the defensive midfielder.

Sporting director Augusto Ignacio said: "It's not like the old days when players left Sporting at any price.

"We are not concerned with William Carvalho because we have alternatives, who will want to play as well.

"The termination clause ensures a great deal to Sporting. I am very pleased with the negotiations.

"It is not easy to negotiate for players, you need to be very shrewd but Sporting have a president who knows how to negotiate with anyone and what is best for the club."

In case you missed it last night....

Newcastle United have completed the signing of Ajax captain Siem de Jong.

The Dutch international signed a six-year deal with the Magpies after the Toon Army paid Ajax an (officially) undisclosed fee - believed to be around £6million.

"It is great to have signed for Newcastle. It is a big club which my brother told me all about, so I already feel good here," said De Jonh on Newcastle's official website.

"I had been at Ajax a long time and wanted a new challenge in a new environment and a new country.

"Coming to Newcastle is a great opportunity and the chance to play for a club like this in the Premier League was one I could not turn down."

Toon fans will hope he fares a little better than younger brother Luuk.

Words on Keylor Navas
Costa Rica star Keylor Navas is attracting plenty of attention across Europe.

After an unbelievable season with Levante, Navas has starred for Costa Rica in Brazil, playing a vital role in their stunning run to the quarter-finals, and he'll once again be keeping goal against Netherlands on Saturday night.

The likes of Liverpool and Bayern Munich have both shown an interest in Navas, as they seek challengers for their current No.1 keepers.

But according to AS in Spain, it is two Iberian clubs who have made the first offers to Levante.

Portuguese giants Porto are said to have had a €3million offer rejected, while Atletico Madrid - having lost Thibaut Courtois back to Chelsea - have seen a €5million (plus Leo Baptistao) approach rebuffed.

"€6million plus forward Leo Baptistao is not €10million," said the club's president Quico Catalan.

"Keylor has a 10m euro (£7.95m) release clause - he's worth more."

Navas has a €10million release fee in his contract.

Arguably the best keeper in La Liga last term - Courtois aside - surely that's a fee worth paying, particularly if he's going to be first choice.

According to all-round football man in the know Tor Kristian Karlsen, Liverpool are closing in on Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Swiss star, 22, saw his country knocked out of the World Cup yesterday, and is now expected to make a decision over his future.

Will he sign a new deal to stay at Bayern Munich (and hope for greater playing time given Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are both a year older)?

Or does he push to move to Liverpool?

*News on 'Mossega que ell vol'*
Liverpool and Barcelona are understood to be £20million apart as they begin transfer talks over Luis Suarez.

Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre is meeting a Barcelona delegation, led by technical director Raul Sanllehi, in London today to discuss Suarez's move to the Nou Camp.

Liverpool value Suarez at £80million because they feel he has proved he is one of the world's best strikers with his 31 Premier League goals last season .

Barcelona feel that figure is too high because of his four-month ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini and they will argue the striker is worth £60million.

The Catalans want to include Alexis Sanchez in the deal and they value the Chile World Cup forward at £32million.

West Ham United have had two bids turned down for Dundee left-back Andy Robertson.

The two-cap Scotland international, 20, has been the subject of interest from West Bromwich Albion recently, and now the Hammers - according to Sky Sports - have also made an offer to the Tangerines.

A figure of £1.5million has reportedly been rejected by the Scottish side, who have sold young starlet Ryan Gauld already.

The Hammers are in the market for a new starting left-back, having struggled for a regular, consistent performer in that position last term.

News from L'Equipe

According to the French paper, Real Madrid could use Angel Di Maria as bait, to bring Monaco to the table in their pursuit of Radamel Falcao.

Falcao's move to the Bernabeu has been one of the hottest rumours in football during the last 18 months, with some mentions that his move from Atletico Madrid to the Principality was merely a way of him staying in the good graces of supporters on the Manzanares.

The Colombian hitman - who has missed the World Cup through injury - supposedly remains on the European champions radar, and L'Equipe reckon they'll sacrifice Di Maria to get him.

What do we reckon here?

Well Di Maria shone under Carlo Ancelotti last season, and if he is forced out of the Spanish club, then it won't be Ancelotti doing the pushing. Every summer, the Argentine is seemingly told that he has no future at the club, only to remain.

And as for Falcao...a master poacher but nowhere near as unselfish as Karim Benezema. Not sure that would fit well with a certain Portuguese gentleman.

Some left-field - and left-back - news from Manchester United now.

Sky Italia journalist Gianluca di Marzio is reporting that Juventus have agreed a deal to sign Patrice Evra.

The Frenchman only penned a new one-year contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season.

But with new boy Luke Shaw set for the lion's share of game time he could now be on his way.

Di Marzio suggests the Serie A champions have offered the 33-year-old €3.5million-per-year to head to Turin.

No agreement is yet in place between them and United but that could be wrapped up quickly.
Re: Transfer News And Rumours by LordVoldemort(m): 6:54pm On Jul 02, 2014
Napoli are ready to switch their attentions from Sandro to Lucas Leiva.

The Spurs man has been on Rafa Benitez's radar for some time but with the north Londoners proving unwilling to budge on asking price they may now be looking elsewhere.

Sky Italia suggest that that could be in the direction of Liverpool midfielder Lucas.

With Emre Can and Adam Lallana already in this summer the Brazilian has slipped some way down the Anfield pecking order and could be on his way.

Should a move materialise it would see a reunion with Benitez, who of course signed him when he was in charge on the red half of Merseyside.

Rio Ferdinand is at the centre of a row between manager Harry Redknapp and club chiefs at Queens Park Rangers who want to veto his signing.

Redknapp has persuaded the 35-year-old free agent to take a huge drop in the £200,000-a-week salary he picked up at Manchester United last season to move to Loftus Road.

But Mirror Sport understands that even at the proposed reduced wage Ferdinand, who turns 36 in November, is considered too old by the QPR board.

The deal was agreed a fortnight ago with former England defender Ferdinand, in Brazil as a World Cup pundit for the BBC, ready to turn down lucrative media offers to prolong his playing career.

But confirmation has been delayed as the west London club try to reach a resolution.

Luis Suarez has "agreed" to join Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish daily AS claims Suarez has a verbal agreement to quit Liverpool for the Nou Camp.

Suarez's camp have made no secret of his desire to join Barcelona and his wife's family live in Catalonia.

Liverpool rejected Barcelona's opening £60million bid during talks yesterday between the clubs in London.

They are holding out for £75million and it is expected a fee of around £70million will be agreed, possibly as early as next week.

And United ...

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United have tabled a bid of £32million for Colombia winger Juan Cuadrado.

The World Cup star has been thrown straight into the media limelight for his performances in Brazil, where he has helped his country into the quarter-finals.

The Fiorentina player has assisted four and scored one in the World Cup which has caught the attention of numerous European clubs.

And United look set to continue their big summer spending after launching a huge bid.

It is believed that Louis van Gaal is looking for a more consistent performer on the wing, after Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia failed to impress last season.

United do face competition from Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, however, with the latter already having held talks with Cuadrado's agent.

Some pretty huge breaking news for you start us off.

Real Madrid have signed Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich, according to reports in Spain.

The 24-year-old is set to sign a multi-year deal with the Champions League winners after an agreement was reached between the two clubs on Wednesday.

The fee is believed to be in the region of £25m.

Marca reported earlier this week that the two parties had finally come to the negotiating table together and a little over 48 hours later a deal has been done.
Re: Transfer News And Rumours by LordVoldemort(m): 11:08am On Jul 03, 2014
More on Kroos as we get it but how about some club-by-club round-ups to ease us into the morning.

First up Arsenal ...

The north Londoners are in desperate need of striking reinforcements this summer.

Olivier Giroud ploughed something of a lone furrow up top for the Gunners last season and help is needed.

That help could come in the form of long-time target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

The Express report that Arsenal are keenly monitoring the Schalke striker ahead of a potential swoop.

Huntelaar is reportedly refusing to negotiate over terms on a new deal with indications suggesting he wants to move to a top European contender for a chance at some silverware before he retires.

Liverpool are also said to be interested.

With time of the essence Arsene Wenger could see the Dutchman as a cheaper alternative to more high-profile targets Mario Balotelli or Alexis Sanchez.
Re: Transfer News And Rumours by LordVoldemort(m): 11:51am On Jul 03, 2014
L'Equipe are reporting that Manchester City have agreed a fee with Porto for Eliaquim Mangala.

The two clubs are said to have shook hands on a €40million deal for the French international centre-back.

However, Mangala is still yet to make a decision on the move due to his participation in the World Cup for his country and only will do when he returns home from Brazil.

The player is believed to prefer a move to Chelsea, who have also shown an interest in him.

A deal between Mangala and Man City is yet to be discussed, despite the fee being agreed.
