I have always wondered how it started, when I was little, at weddings, friends and well-wishers give gifts and cash to newly married couple during reception after wedding. This I understand, is to help support the newly wed couple, however I don't understand why the couple have to give gifts to friends and well-wishers who attended their wedding, most times in exchange for cash. How did it start? What's the reason for it? Is it a business venture?
