please pardon me for my ignorance but i don't understand a word of what's being discussed here and i know i'm not dull. please someone help the likes of me out- what is rooting? why should i root? a step by step guide on what to do before, during and after rooting is needed. i recently scanned my R7 with 360 security and below is what i get afterwards.The question now is how do i resolve this issue as my phone is now slow and it just closes any app i open eg mozilla. Thanks

Thanks, it works perfectly as instructed. The next challenge is not able to restore applications using titanium backup, it says invalid apks.

Problem solved courtesy SkgeeBoss Custom Rom.

do i need to back up every time i want to flash a new custom rom on my r7?

Skgeeboss to the rescue. I just keep changing ROMs everyday. Can't wait to feel the L version too. Thanks skgeebose!

To flash ROM
Have a backup of stock rom
Goto to Clockworkmod by pressing and holding the power button and volume up button at the same time till it enters the recovery...

To install ROM
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Advanced--->wipe dalvik cache
Advanced--->clear battery stats
Now click on install zip...and locate ROM on SD card or internal SD card depending on where u placed the ROM...
Flash the ROM when located
And reboot or automatically it will reboot
Chill as the phone boots during first installation...

That's all

I thought the custom rom is 4.4 kitkat, it's just 4.2.... I like the UI though but I'd like to see the 4.4 kitkat custom rom for Tecno R7. I will manage this 1 till the kitkat for R7 is out. Thanks.

which of the custom ROMs are you referring to. Samsung s5 or Android L?
