But it’s not all about getting the right underwear, you need to know how to CARE for the underwear. Good maintenance can make a world of difference when it comes to your stuff. So how do you go about this? Is it only about washing and drying? Take a look at the following tips on how to take good care of your underwear:

WASH new underwear before wearing. Even if it has that ‘all-new garment’ smell, it is best to wash in order to remove every potential chemical leftover.

TO wash your lingerie soak in light detergent solution for not more than 30 minutes. Make sure the solution is well mixed before putting your underwear in. This is to ensure that the detergent is not too harsh for the fabric.

SEPARATE colours. Soak dark coloured ones together and light coloured ones in another basin.

REMOVE any loose buckle or other materials that may cause rust spots to form on the underwear soaked in the basin.

CONCENTRATE more on padded areas because they take in more sweat than other areas. Not washing them thoroughly may give you rashes when next you wear them.

FOR bras, do not squeeze the paddings too much or you’ll spoil the shape. Put the cup of the bra in the centre of one palm and use your fist from the other hand to press against the cup. This will drain out the water without squashing the cups.

MAKE sure to rinse off all traces of detergent. Detergent weakens the fibres of the material so don’t be surprised to find your bras losing elasticity too quickly.

HANG up the lingerie to dry if possible. If not, clip on the straps and the middle portion of the bra, unless you want an imprint of the clothes peg on the padded portion, never snap a peg on the cups portion.

STOWING them in their original shape is the best way to preserve the shape. If you crush them or fold them, you are likely to destroy the shape of the bra. If you are not careful, not only will the bra not enhance your cleavage, you might end up looking like you have extra nipples.
