Higher Everydɑy MONDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2018 AVOID BEING TRAPPED TEXT: PROVERBS 5:3, 4 "For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword" (Proverbs 5:3, 4). The urge to sin is always there when the enticement is strong. However, you have the options to either yield or resist, no matter how intense it is. Many careless youths unwittingly get trapped in immorality. The dangerous consequences of being caught in the trap of immorality are far-reaching. Watch! Fornication and adultery unleash destructive penalties into a person's life. These include: loss of respect, shattered dreams, complex health challenges due to contracting sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis, gonorrhea and HIV AIDS. Fornication deprives a person of spiritual covering or protection. Fornication has murdered many champions and stripped people of success, power, wisdom, anointing and a promising future. The Bible teaches that immorality is a sin, and the eternal consequence is hellfire. Modern coinage of sin does not alter God's pronouncement. If you are trapped, seek God's face in genuine repentance and cut off every sinful relationship because "...whoremongers and adulterers God will judge." • Chɑllenge: "Life without caution is like a car without brakes." • Prɑyer: "My God, help to escape the traps of seducers in Jesus' name." • Quote: "Cut off every sinful relationship." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Job 31:1-4 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2018 FOLLOWING JESUS ALL THE WAY TEXT: LUKE 14:28 "For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?" (Luke 14:28). Ahn Ei Sook, was a Korean woman who lived during the Japanese occupation of Korea. She took stand alone for God's truth and was imprisoned for her faith because she refused to bow down to Japanese idol worship. She was tortured for six years until her release. On the day of her release, a prison guard shouted, "Ladies and gentlemen! Here is one who for six long years refused to worship Japanese gods. She fought against severe torture, hunger and cold, and has won without bowing her head to the Idol worship of Japan. Today she is a champion of the faith!" The crowd then shouted, "Praise to the name of Jesus!" Our redemption is costly because it cost God the life of His Son and what has cost God so much cannot be cheap for us. Salvation is free but being a disciple is very costly. Discipleship demands our all, Yes - no reservation if we will truly follow Christ to the end. The Christian walk is a battleground, not a playground. We must be willing to risk everything to follow Jesus. • Chɑllenge: "I have decided to follow Jesus." • Prɑyer: "Lord, I want to follow Jesus, no turning back." • Quote: "Be willing to risk everything to follow Jesus." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Philippians 3:7-10 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2018 BODY AND SPIRIT FITNESS TEXT: 1 TIMOTHY 4:6-9 "For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come" (1 Timothy 4:8). Exercise is very important to our bodies; it is a physical activity that is planned, structured and repetitive for the purpose of conditioning any part of the body to improve health and maintain fitness. The World Health Organization (WHO) and American Heart Association (AHA) recommend 1.50 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity or 75 minutes of vigorous physical activity weekly. Our text today reminds us of the priority of godliness over bodily exercise. Exercise is very important to our bodies but as a Christian, do not spend all your time exercising your body. In fact, the total percentage for bodily exercise is just a fraction of your time, therefore; concentrate more on spiritual exercise that is profitable for your spirit, soul and body. There is no reward for those who specialise in exercising their feet but those whose feet bring good tidings have great reward (Isaiah 52:7). Fasting and prayer is a spiritual exercise that is profitable for both the spirit and the body. Preach the word and keep your body, soul and spirit fit. • Chɑllenge: "Go from door to door to share tracts." • Prɑyer: "Help me, Oh God, to exercise my spirit, soul and body." • Quote: "Concentrate more on spiritual exercise." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: 1 Timothy 4:6–9 See more here:

Higher Everydɑy THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2018 ABILITY IN ASSIGNMENT TEXT: MATTHEW 25:10-30 "And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey" (Matthew 25:15). At the end of a 12th-grade class lesson in Geometry, Miss Brown gave an assignment to the class, it was a brainstorming assignment. Marilyn went to the resource room in her school to complete the assignment and submitted to her teacher the next day. Miss Brown graded her assignment and was very impressed with her work. Meanwhile, Rogers came in to the class that morning, only to inform his teacher, who asked for his assignment that, "My dog ate my assignment," What a flimsy excuse! Rogers was a very lazy student. Are you like Rogers who blames his dog for everything? Assignment is an essential part of school activity to evaluate student performance in predefined areas. It is your ability to complete an assignment that will determine if you have mastered a particular concept or not. Those who fail to submit an assignment will never discover their ability in the assignment. Our text reminds us that our position in heaven is determined by our faithfulness in using our God-given talents. The more you use your talents, the more reward you get from God. • Chɑllenge: "Do not hide your talent." • Prɑyer: "Help me Lord to be faithful in Jesus' name." • Quote: "Be faithful in using our God-given talents." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Mathew 25:10-30 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2018 ACCUSED BUT ACQUITTED TEXT: JOHN 8:1-10 "When Jesus had lifted up Himself, and saw none but the woman, He said unto her, woman, where are those accusers? hath no man condemned thee" (John 8:10). Our text is a story that gives us a beautiful illustration of how Jesus silenced the accusers, while graciously addressing a sinner in dire need of mercy. The story of the accused woman taken in the sin of adultery delivers a healing balm to anyone with a heart weighed down by guilt, condemnation and shame. Though Jesus did not excuse her sins, yet He commanded her to go and sin no more. He then presented the woman with a fresh opportunity to begin a new life. Repentance is the only key to be acquitted and free for life. Jesus expects a change of heart and genuine repentance from every sinner. Jesus is the only one that can set every accused sinner free before the court of heaven. Are you an accused? Sincerely repent today and you will be acquitted for life because He took your place on the cross. Come unto Him now and He will have mercy on you (Isaiah 55:6-7). • Chɑllenge: "You too can be acquitted today." • Prɑyer: "Oh God, set me free in the name of Jesus." • Quote: "Repent today and you will be acquitted." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: John 8:1-10 See more here:

Higher Everydɑy SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2018 SUFFER WITH THE SUFFERING TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 4:7-12 "Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body" (Hebrews 13:3). According to Warren Weirsbe, "Calvary is God's great proof that suffering in the will of God always leads to glory." Let's join believers all over the world to pray for those men and women who are cut off from their families and suffering or serving time behind bars for the gospel sake. Those who believe in Jesus in the Middle East and some Asian countries need our prayers. Christians over there, face serious persecutions; many are imprisoned, tortured, or even martyred for their faith. Pray that their faith will not fail them and to have strength and discernment in such dangerous situations. The Bible admonishes us to suffer with those who are suffering for Christ's sake. There are so many preachers of righteousness who are imprisoned unjustly and are ready to be executed. Are you going to fold your hands and watch them rot in jail? Why don't you say a word of prayers for suffering saints right now and God will set them free to continue His work? As you remember them and their loved ones God will remember you too. • Chɑllenge: "Show concern for those who are suffering." • Prɑyer: "Lord, help the suffering Christians all over the world." • Quote: "Say a word of prayer for suffering saints." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: 2 Corinthians 4:7-12 See more here: 1 Like 1 Share |

Higher Everydɑy SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2018 AMAZING GRACE TEXT: EPHESIANS 2:1-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9). John Newton, the author of "Amazing Grace," was an example of the grace of God that produces salvation through faith. Dismissed from the Royal Navy, Newton embraced a career in slave trafficking. He served on a slave ship during the cruelest days of trans-Atlantic slavery. Newton was notorious for cursing and blasphemy until he was dramatically saved by grace through faith in Christ on the high sea. Newton became a great evangelist and a leading member of the abolitionist movement. What an evidence of God's grace in a man's life! God's grace is freely available to unbelieving youths who come to Him by faith. The grace of God covers every sin. Do not struggle to overcome your sins by personal effort. Surrender your life to Christ today by confessing and forsaking your sins. Embrace the grace of God through faith in Christ and you will be saved from your sins and eternal damnation. • Chɑllenge: "Salvation is only by grace through faith." • Prɑyer: "Thank you Lord for your grace that brought salvation down to man." • Quote: "Embrace the grace of God." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Ephesians 2:1-9 See more here: 1 Share

Higher Everydɑy MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2018 STEAL NO MORE TEXT: EPHESIANS 4:21-32 "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth" (Ephesians 4:28). It was Joe Bishop who pointed out that, "When a person is saved, there is evidence of salvation. If someone says. "I'm saved," but they continue to lie, steal, and live immorally, it is quite evident they are not saved." James, a school drop-out, was a backslidden Christian who joined an armed robbery gang. In one of their robbery operations, James and a few others were left behind. However, luck ran out of those who went for the operation and lost their lives. This tragedy led to James' confession of sins and his restoration to Christ. He eventually joined a living Church, returned to school and settled down to a responsible Christian life. Beloved, God is gracious but He hates and punishes sin. Having given your life to Christ, completely surrender to Him and give no place to the devil. Flee from everything that will lure you to sin. If you have not surrendered to Christ, do so today. He will save you and give you the power to overcome sin and to steal no more. • Chɑllenge: "Genuine repentance delivers from besetting sins." • Prɑyer: "Dear Lord, give me power to overcome sin in Jesus' name." • Quote: "Flee from everything that will lure you into sin." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Ephesians 4:21-32 See more here: 1 Like 2 Shares

Higher Everydɑy TUESDAY NOVEMBER 13, 2018 WATCH AGAINST DECEPTION TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:1-8 "Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience" (Ephesians 5:6). Youths are prone to deception because of their inquisitive and exploratory nature. Some gamble away their souls by entertaining seemingly harmless but soul destructive debates and arguments presented by classmates, colleagues, friends and teachers. Others seek new definitions and answers to questions that alienate them from God. Today, many places of worship teach heresies that deceive young minds. Christian youths should be cautious and reject deception in its entirety. Our text warns against deception with vain words which incurs the wrath of God. Beloved, do not be in haste to accept attractive and lofty ideas. There may be hidden traps to destroy your faith and damn your soul forever. Watch out against deceit and errors. Remain steadfast in faith, cling to God's word, pray without ceasing, witness for Christ by your words and deeds and fellowship with God's people. Remain faithful to God and surely you will not fall prey to damning deception and heresies. • Chɑllenge: "Reject every form of deception." • Prɑyer: "Help me Lord, to be steadfast and uncompromising in faith." • Quote: "Watch out against deceit and errors." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Colossians 2:6-10 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2018 THE CHRISTIAN IS DIFFERENT TEXT: 2 TIMOTHY 2:15-19 "This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind" (Ephesians 4:17). Longie Cunningham declared that "A religion that compels a man to pay his debts, take back the things he has stolen, confess his lies and uncover his crimes has credibility." A story was told of a first-year undergraduate student who voluntarily withdrew from the university. He had obtained his high school certificate by fraudulent means. With the certificate, he gained admission into the university. However, he gave his life to Christ while on campus and forsook his old sinful ways. Realising the need for restitution, he voluntarily forfeited his studentship and re-enrolled for the high school certificate examination. What a challenge to Christian youths! Our text admonishes Christian youths not to live like unbelieving youths. God expects you to be righteous before Him in your thoughts, words and actions. Your life must show others that you belong to God and not to the world. You are different. Flee from immorality, obscene dressing, examination malpractice and other youthful vices. Live like a Christian among fellow youths on the campus, office and everywhere. By so doing you will draw unbelieving youths to Christ. • Chɑllenge: "Live a godly life for all to see." • Prɑyer: "Help me Lord God, to live a Christ-like life, in Jesus' name." • Quote: "Live like a Christian among fellow youths." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: 2 Timothy 2:15-19 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2018 LIFE AWAY FROM HOME TEXT: 2 KINGS 5:3 "And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! For He would recover him of his leprosy" (2 Kings 5:3). John E. Crawford stated that, "Every experienced parent knows that bad behaviour in a child rarely happens with no previous signal and no past incidence of disobedience and defiance." But could that be the case of this young girl, an only daughter of committed Christian parents who raised all their children in a godly way? At home Gift was obedient and committed to God. On entering the university, she identified with campus social life and backslid. Gift became pregnant and lost her life in the process of committing abortion. What a tragedy for a promising girl from a Christian home! In our text today, we see the young lady serving Captain Naaman's wife. She was far away from her home in Israel, living as a captive in Syria. While in our story above, Gift left home and backslid, Naaman's maid still maintained her faith in the Living God. Let the word of God instilled in you from childhood never depart from you. Remain steadfast in faith and God will uphold you to the end. • Chɑllenge: "In these last days, watch out lest you fall." • Prɑyer: "Help me Lord to watch over my Christian life diligently." • Quote: "Remain steadfast in faith." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: 1 Peter 5:8-9; 1 Corinthians 10:7-I2 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2018 YOU CAN FORGIVE ANYTHING TEXT: MATTHEW 6:12-15 "But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your heavenly Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:15). In 1947, Corrie Ten boom, a well known missionary from Holland, was delivering a sermon on forgiveness to a German congregation. She said then: "When we confess our sins... God casts them into the deepest ocean, gone forever." In response, a heavily built man came forward to confess his past deeds. Corrie at a first glance recognized the man as one of her captors at the concentration camps during Adolf Hitler's occupation of Holland. She recalled with nostalgia that the man was among the guards responsible for the death of many, including her friend, Betsie. The man stretched out a hand hoping for a handshake with his former victim and asked, "Will you forgive me?" He wanted reassurance from one of those that had been directly affected by his past misdeeds. Overwhelmed by emotion, Corrie uttered in tears the incredible, "I forgive you, brother with all my heart." Christ urged His followers to forgive those who have injured them. As a young person, how often do you forgive those who offend you? Take the step of faith and seek out people that need your forgiveness and reconcile with them. • Chɑllenge: "Make up your mind today to forgive your enemies." • Prɑyer: "My Father, give me a forgiving heart today." • Quote: "How often do you forgive?" • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Matthew 6:12-15 See more here: 1 Share

Higher Everydɑy SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2018 CURSED CHARACTER TEXT: GENESIS 49:3, 4 "Reuben, thou art my first born, my might, and of my strength, the Excellency of dignity. thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed" (Genesis 49:3, 4). Reuben was the first son of Jacob. He had an enviable status. He was destined to excel in all areas of life. But he had a problem. He was weak in willpower. He led an immoral life. This action cost him his birthright. Reuben was unstable in morals, and undisciplined. He lost his birthright due to immoral conduct. He came under his father's curse as a result. The consequence was that he would never excel. His birthright was therefore transferred to Joseph, the younger. Joseph was also faced with the temptation to commit immorality but he overcame it. So he inherited what Reuben lost. Some youths have missed God's great plans for their lives due to compromises. Some sell their birthrights due to their relationship with the opposite sex; others exchange theirs in the examination hall through examination malpractices. For some, the desire to look like the world has made them to lose their enviable relationship with God. Refuse to be another Reuben. Choose to be a Joseph. Where others have compromised and fallen, the grace of God will see you through. • Chɑllenge: "Refuse to be slain where others have fallen." • Prɑyer: "Oh Lord, help me to be stable and unmovable." • Quote: "God will see you through." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: 1 Corinthians 15:58 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2018 ROOM FOR THE RESILIENT TEXT: GENESIS 26:22 "And he removed from thence and digged another well, and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, for now the Lord hath made room for us and we shall be fruitful in the land" (Genesis 26:22). It is by God's special opportunities that we can make it in life. The name REHOBOTH says it all. It means the God of opportunities or the God who makes room for our fruitfulness and success. Opportunities are chances or favour not merited or pre-arranged. It includes gifts and other provisions given you to enjoy at the expense of someone else. According to Winston Churchill, "The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity, the optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." Youth time bubbles with opportunities, but many youths waste theirs. Being saved from sin early in life is one of those opportunities. It also builds for you a great character and respectable reputation. As a youth you are loaded with fewer cares and responsibilities, schooling and early learning is thus made easier. Parental care, provision and moral support are lavished upon you by all around at this tender age. Everybody seems to delight in your future. Daniel used his opportunities well and became very responsible and a great man for God and the Babylonian empire. Desire to be like Daniel. • Chɑllenge: "Never allow dissuasion from the ungodly." • Prɑyer: "Lord, give me grace to seek you first." • Quote: "Desire to be like Daniel." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Deuteronomy 8:18 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy MONDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2018 GOOD NEWS TEXT: 1 TIMOTHY 1:15 "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief" (1 Timothy 1:15). Some time ago an inquiring photographer asked six people on the streets of New York this question: "What is the most important event in history?" He got some interesting answers: (1) The settlement of Jamestown by the English (2) The defeat of the Saracens at Tours (3) The defeat of the Japanese at the end of World War II (4) The invention of the wheel (5) The invention of the atomic bomb. But the sixth answer was given by a 14-year-old schoolboy. He said the greatest event in human history was (6) The Life and ministry of Jesus Christ. How do you look at Jesus? Whether you look at Him from the viewpoint of a skeptic or a believer, one thing is certain: Jesus has influenced the thinking of the world in a way that no other person has. Christ died to set man free from sin. Nobody ever said he came to die and save other people from sin. Jesus says of Himself, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life" (John 14:6). Dear friend, having heard of this most important news, what will you do with Jesus? You can repent of your sins, accept Jesus as Saviour, and you'll have eternal Life. • Chɑllenge: "Jesus is the Good Shepherd that laid down His life." • Prɑyer: "Dear Lord, give me grace to preach the good news." • Quote: "Accept Jesus as Saviour." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Isaiah 9:6-8 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2018 HELPFUL HYGIENE TEXT: REVELATION 19:5-9 "Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment" (Ecclesiastes 9:8). It is often said that "cleanliness is next to godliness." This signifies that cleanliness is equated to living a life approved of God. The Lord expects us to maintain purity of heart and life. The Bible says, "Be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD" (Isaiah 52:11), emphasizing the importance of cleanliness to God. Our text today says, "Let thy garments be always white." If your white garment is expected to be consistently kept white, it implies that your lifestyle must be pure, both physically and spiritually. Your body, the clothes you wear, the food you eat, and your environment must be kept clean. Keep your surroundings clean. Wash your clothes and underwears regularly. Maintain personal hygiene by washing your mouth, morning and night. Cut your nails, and keep your hair neat. Keep your rooms clean and tidy. Wash your kitchen wares and maintain proper food hygiene. These practices will help promote your health and prevent diseases. Most importantly, keep your heart clean for the Lord, and make yourself worthy of eternal life. • Chɑllenge: "Without holiness you cannot see God." • Prɑyer: "Lord, help me to be pure within and without." • Quote: "Maintain purity of heart and life." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Revelation 19:5-9 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2018 SAVIOUR'S SACRIFICE TEXT: JOHN 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). United States' Army Specialist Chris Drake died May 26, 2013 when a rocket-propelled grenade struck the vehicle he was in, in Afghanistan. "He did the ultimate sacrifice, one that others wouldn't attempt to try," said his mother, Rose Drake. "I am proud of him for what he did," A young girl said. "He didn't just do it for me and his family, he did it for the whole world and that meant a lot to me." Drake's mother accepted the loss, and said she respected the fact that he died for freedom. Chris Drake's testimony paints the correct picture of the kind of sacrifice Christ made over 2000 years ago. Our text for mediation today tells of the love of God for mankind. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. You can be free from your sins right now by sincerely confessing them to God, and admitting Jesus into your life. As you do this, determine henceforth, to surrender your life to Him and live for Him. You can thereafter be assured that you will not perish, but have everlasting life. • Chɑllenge: "Live for Christ for the rest of your life." • Prɑyer: "I surrender to you Lord, keep me faithful to the end." • Quote: "You will not perish." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Roman 5:1-11; Ephesians2:4-9 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy THURSDAY 22ND NOVEMBER, 2018 PAINS OF PROCRASTINATION TEXT: PROVERBS 27:1-12 "Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth" (Proverbs 27:1). When you delay doing something that you ought to do, it is called procrastination. Almost everyone procrastinate at one time or another. But for some people, procrastinating has become a habit. They just cannot decide and do something immediately; they must find an excuse to postpone it till a more convenient time. Indeed procrastination is the thief of time. It steals the time for homework, laundry, polishing your shoes, or washing dad's car. Procrastination may lead to lateness, unfinished tasks, and sometimes, telling lies to cover up. Meditate on this fine poem by James Albery: He slept beneath the moon; He basked beneath the sun; He lived a life of going to do; And died with nothing done. Many of us go through life with an array of undone tasks, large and small, nibbling at our conscience. What you need to do today, do it with dispatch. Be urgent and diligent in your work. "Whatsoever thy hand find to do, do it with thy might....." (Ecclesiastes 9:10). • Chɑllenge: "Procrastination creates a backlog of unfinished tasks." • Prɑyer: "Lord, help me to be conscious of time." • Quote: "Do it with dispatch." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: JAMES 4:13-17 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2018 CHRISTIAN CONTENTMENT TEXT: PROVERBS 27:1-12 "A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked" (Psalms 37:16). Contentment is the acknowledgement and satisfaction of reaching capacity. We lack contentment because we do not live a life of gratitude and take so much for granted. Lack of contentment is the gateway to many crimes today. Internet fraud, kidnapping, armed robbery, money laundering, prostitution, examination malpractice and certificate racketeering are common practices among youngsters today. They are all dubious ways of amassing wealth. It is important to note as youth that the little you have is better than the riches of those who amass wealth by fraudulent means. Accumulation of wealth or meeting your needs in unrighteous ways attracts the wrath of God. Are you diligent in your studies or planning to cheat in order to come out with good grades? Are you into crime? God is angry with the wicked every day. Desist from such practices and give your life to Christ. Remember that godliness with contentment is great gain. The Scripture says, Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith (Proverbs 15:16). Be happy with what you have. • Chɑllenge: "Lack of contentment is the gateway to crimes." • Prɑyer: "Help me Lord to live a life free from greed." • Quote: "Be happy with what you have." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: 1 Timothy 6:6-10 See more here: |

Higher Everydɑy SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2018 ZERO TOLERANCE FOR SIN TEXT: GENESIS 39:1-12 "Abstain from all appearance of evil" (1 Thessalonians 5:22). The brothers of Joseph sold him for 20 pieces of silver to the merchants from Midan. Joseph later found himself in the house of Potiphar as a slave boy. He became a personal aid to Mr. Potiphar because he was found to be diligent and trustworthy. That meant he would always interact with Mrs. Potiphar, a very lecherous woman, and her numerous female helpers. Such a social setting naturally put the young Hebrew in a very vulnerable position. Madam did not waste time to ask the teenager to have fun with her whenever the two found themselves alone. Joseph, as a disciplined and God-fearing youngster, refused to be enticed by her. In spite of his zero tolerance for sin, Joseph was framed up by his mistress and was jailed for an offence he never committed. Satan may entice you to sin through your classmates, wordly entertainments, examination malpractices, and immoral association with a boy or girl, among others. You can resist all of these. The only secret is that you must be born again, fear God and never mind the consequence of offending anyone. • Chɑllenge: "Be warned, unequal yoking will lead you to sin." • Prɑyer: "Father, give me the grace to overcome temptations daily." • Quote: "The only secret is that you must be born again." • Bible Reɑding in one Yeɑr: Genesis 39:1-12 See more here: 1 Share
