she works in a bank where as a beginner in operations she earns 75k. she read engineering in school. now she gets an offer to be a project supervisor in a real estate firm (the firm builds simple houses and sell to the public). she has never really worked as a construction project manager so she lacks experience to accurately supervise. they will pay her 60k monthly. what should she do? leave the bank for estate development or remain in the more secure job

your advice is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Your friend needs to consider some things first before making a choice, first is the pay, if your friend is more interested in pay I guess she will go for the bank job. Next is job security, is she a contract staff in the bank? If yes that means the security is low but if she is a full staff then she stands a chance, the real estate firm is it well established? I mean do they have enough funds and links to break through the Nigerian market because it will be bad you friend joins them today and tomorrow the fold up because of lack of patriotism. Your friend also needs to consider her chance if growth in both firms before she picks. Bank jobs really gives time to socialise or time for your family but estate job is mist likely to give you more time. These are the few factors I can pick she needs to consider plus her preference.

To add to what ernie4life has written, you need to also consider if you are after a career or just money. Some jobs are tickets to a career path in that you use them to build urself in that field. So say you read accounting and u wanna practice in the long run, but ur working as a PR in a big firm, if you get another job as an accountant in another coy, you can take a paycut knowing that you're working there for experience in ur field so you can comfortably join ur dream/ ideal coy in the future and bargain higher salaries. That time your mouth will strong well well cos ur coming fully loaded. And don't worry, no experience is a waste, the previous one will also add to ur advantage. So think bout it.
Job security, money, career, flexibility, fair working conditions, esteem. Etc. The reasons to consider are inexhaustible.

Good luck in the choice and may God help the decision.
