I love this old 70s generation of Tuareg musicians. They really were stylish and knew how to produce good music. I hope the current generation sticks to it. They are actually doing well. E.g., Tamikrest, Toumast,etc. |

PAGAN9JA: I love this old 70s generation of Tuareg musicians. I think some of the new generation is good, nothing has changed much with Ishumar. Tinariwen is also another old group. There are even some places in Nigeria that you can hear the old style of Touareg Ishumar music. |

Yes True. These days all young Tuareg are aspiring to form their own Ishumar bands. Most of the songs are themed around Azawad. |

PAGAN9JA: The style is very similar to what you hear in some Fulbe, Zarma/Songhai, Hausa and Kanuri music. |
