Honestly, why Nigeria is still a member of the Commonwealth beats me. We got our independence in 1960 yet, we still delight at every opportunity to identify with our colonial master and her former slave colonies. Stockholm syndrome much!!!? We got our independence in 1960 yet, we still delight at every opportunity to identify with our colonial master and her former slave colonies. Stockholm syndrome much!!!? Nigeria wins first medal with a bronze by nkechi opara in the female 48kg weightlifting. Sanjita won with a total lift of 173kg (77+96) while Mirabai grabbed the silver with a cumulative effort of 170 (75+95)(both Indians) in the absence of other strong competitors. Nigerai's Nkechi Opara was a distant third with 162 (70+92). 1 Like |
