The search giant has made its 2001 index available to web users.

The Google 2001 web page shows its former logo which has changed very little over the last decade.

The search results it calls up relate to current pages but at the end of the text for the link there is also a secondary link which takes you to the 2001 version of the listed page as provided by the Internet Archive.

To search the 2001 index, visit http://www.google.com/search2001.html

You might also find http://www.archive.org useful. Could take you back in time on how a website looks like in a specific year.
