If you really want to be successful in life, don't seek it. True success is becoming a person of value. Make yourself valuable to the world. The way to do this is by making yourself so unique that people won't be able to find anyone like you, your product, or services anywhere else. It's your uniqueness that ultimately makes you valuable.

"Try not to become a person of success, but rather a person of value" - Albert Einstein.
People come from all directions to your unique gift when you make yourself valuable. Therefore, success is the result of your value to the people you serve through your gift. You will succeed when you assist others in achieving their mission and fulfill their needs. Value is determined by your refined uniqueness.

"VALUE + REFINEMENT = SUCCESS" (Dr. Myles Munroe).

I've recently been experiencing men in influential positions seeking me out. I'm invited to lunch, coffee and homes. Also, to churches and businesses. A lot of my time is spent refining my gift. I specifically build on the area of helping people discover their purpose, self development, gift refinement, identifing their work beyond their job, understanding and releasing their potential, and understanding the kingdom of God - which is not religion. It's specifically for market place influence in every sphere in society.
One of my mentors said, "The greatest discover in life is self-discovery. With it comes an understanding of our origin in the Creator, our inherent value, and the manner in which we are to fulfill our personal purpose in life." - Myles Munroe. An attitude of freedom and confidence is the by-product of self discovery. What other people think about you would no longer matter when you discover who you are.
Purposeful people believe they owe a debt to their society and are committed to pay it. In order for you to discover yourself thoroughly you can actually go directly to your Creator, to your very Source. As if you wanted to go straight to the manufacturer of a product to understand it's full reason for existence. You and Him are of the same nature. Your life will be meaningless if you do not know yourself. Since your Creator knows why He made you, you can go to Him to discover your true self and purpose. The original intent for the existence of any product is found in the mind of it's inventor.

Sometimes you'll need a mentor to help you understand the mind of the Inventor with accuracy. This is why in the scriptures it says, "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Eph. 4:11-13). We are given leadership to show us the way and equip us in the work of service we were destined for.

True purpose is not a matter of employment, but of deployment. It is deploying yourself to the world for the benefit of generations to come. A job is an opportunity to get paid to refine and deploy your gift in the interest of serving the vision and mission of that organization. If you are in a job setting be faithful and learn as much as you can. You are in a great position to graduate from one phase to another of your vision. Your present ambient is God's best school for you. And remember, you are the product of progress.
The key is in knowing that you have a contribution to make to the world that no one can make but you. The unique gift to do so is in you alone. You came here as a genuine and unique unit so don't think about leaving as a duplicate. In other words, do not measure your success next to someone else's or to their standards of what success should be.

Don't work for money. Work for fulfillment. Financial success will follow. The secret to purpose is that it's in your gift of value. Discover your gift and you'll find your niche. Remember Solomon's wisdom: "A man's gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men." (Proverbs 18:16 NKJV).

He did not say that it's in one's education or connections that make room for him in the world, but rather a man's gift. When you refine your gift and work on it until it becomes very significant, the world will make room for you.
Here are simple steps to refining your gift. How do you make yourself valuable? (Where you'll be sought after).

1.) Significance. Value is created by significance. Significance is the quality of being worthy of attention; important. Significance brings out the GIANT in us. We all long to be great in something.

2.) Unique. Your significance is what makes you unique. Unique is being the only one of its kind; unlike anyone else. Remember, Rare is always in demand.

3.) Specialty. You become unique by becoming a specialist. A specialist in one thing (two at most). Even many General Practitioners are seeking out a specific specialty. An important key to remember is that you don't want to be 'the jack of all trades that masters nothing'. A specialist is a person who concentrates in a particular subject or activity; one who is skilled in a specific field. This will determin your uniqueness.
"One of life's big possible failures would be never being able to find the right role or the right people to help you execute that specialty." ― RAH.

4.) Focus. Therefore, the way to ensure a specialty is to stay focussed. "Narrow mindedness" is when you narrow your attention on no more than one thing (two at most). Focus is the act of concentrationg interest or activity on something in order to deliver us from distractions. Build on your strengths. Be a specialist and solve problems.
"When we studied them, excellent performers were rarely well rounded. On the contrary, they were sharp." ― Donald O. Clifton, Now, Discover Your Strengths.
Become a sharp tool in the shed by staying focussed on your life's calling and not on someone elses. By the way, it's considered 'trespassing' to be in another person's (unauthorized) territory. If you weren't built for it, you'll toil in vain and become exhausted and heavy laden.
Discover, Develop and Refine your unique gift. Become a person of value and you'll be sought after. You were destined for greatness, but your greatness is in your valuable gift of service.
