Dear Nairalanders, in Nigeria and much of West Africa, we have 2 seasons for our climate. (1) Rainy Season and (2) Dry Season.

In nortern and southern hemispheres (Oyibos' homelands) they have 4 seasons. (1) Winter (2) Spring (3) Summer (4) Autumn.

My question is this:
Why do A growing number of Nigerian Secondary Schools name a particular holiday as "Summer Holiday"? When we have no such weather as Summer in any part of Nigeria or much less the entire Africa?

Is it a deep seated black man inferiority complex to copy oyibos in whatever till the ends of the earth? Or is it foolishness on the part of the school proprietors to forget to teach Nigerian children about Nigerian weather where they all are currently residing?
