I want to correct an impression.
1.I'm 20 years old and I'm just trying to start a life for myself, and I receive an income that's okay for me to cater for a dog. I'm just been reasonable, it won't be wise to use a huge amount of money out of my still growing saving cos it won't be good for me and the dog. So getting a dog free will make things easy cos I'll have enough for myself and the dog.
2.Whether you get something free or not, a person who has value for things will take care of it very well.
3. I wouldn't use the word "beg" I'm just appealing to people, maybe someone will be kind enough to give out a puppy for free.

Giving is not a compulsion, I see no reason why sme commentators would keep saying that someone that doesn't have money to purchase a dog, how would the person take care of it...we come from different backgrounds for crying out loud. Some are still under the auspices of a guidance(Parent, Sisters,Brothers,Cousins etc)...and in most cases, you always have some food wastes in there . God so good ,dogs eat what humans eat.
Once again no one is begs you guys to give, give out of your own free will. And stop making not so relevant statements here.

There are thousands of local dogs, abi na basenji dey call am one can get as a pet.. My first dog was a local breed call teddy, then we had a mongrel that stayed with us for 13 years..

You will be surprised how easily you can get attached to a local dog, and of course, they are a lot easier to look after and feed. A note of warning, looking after foreign breed of dogs no be beans, I know a guy that spends close to 20k on his GSD, so it is always wise to think twice before asking for these dogs. Do your own research ( shelter, socialisation, temperament, climate, feeding, training, exercise, disease susceptibility, vaccinations) to know what you are getting yourself into..

To start with I will like to acknowledge Mr Seun for giving me the go ahead to create this thread.
This thread is for those who want to show their magnanimity by giving out puppies to those that love dogs but have not the capital to obtain it.
Unfortunately am also in this category, I love dogs but I can't just get the capital to get one...I will really appreciate anyone that can offer to give me one for free. Please am not referring to local dogs...am talking of foreign breeds dogs like: Alsatian,BullMastiff,Rot...

1st.Never refer to the money u use in buyng a dog as a capital,it sound like u actually want the dog basically for farming,and if that be the case,u might not get it as easy as u anticipate.its what you work for that lasts with you.
Like arcbay said,I like dogs from childhood but never allowed to own one as my parents are Muslims,but it never stopped the drive.my cousins gave me slant back GSD as far back then but my dad refused.I had to take it back,another good area uncle gave me a GSD which was rejected too.all these I could easily take back as they were gifts,one day on my way from school I saw some lovely litter that I could afford,I bought a pup without thinking,it was until I got home that it dawned on me I have my dad to face. See me see trouble oh.and he wouldn't tell me calmly to take the dog back,he does in serious rage that I always feel D ground should open and swallow me.
I now took the pup to a friend that has a dog next street,and go there to feed the dog daily with my own food not leftovers.my friend got jealous my dog is finer and ppl like her more than his and asked me to cum take her.I did take her to anoda friend closer to me.my friends dad drove on one of her hindleg and broke it seriously.I would go there daily to massage the leg and feed.until oneday I took the dog home and hides her in the compound.one nite it started to rain and the dog started to cry,my dad woke me and asked if I brought a dog home? Dem born me to answer?I was just dere looking away,he now told me to put the dog inthe store 2nyt and get rid of her 2moro morning!wusyde!
That was how I took the dog in,she stayed 9yrs,my dad eventually liked her.
Lesson: if I did not buy her I would have returned her long ago and not allowed to have a dog

2ndly, you spend more money in taking care of a dog than the money used in buying.

3rd. Don't think of having adog with the basic aim of profit but passion

it's so obvious you can't take good care of a dog and i cannever think of giving out a dog to you. I spend more than 15k per dog on a monthly basis. I know a lot of people who spend more than that amount on their dogs. If you can't risk all your finances on your pets, then you ain't worth having one. You can save up and buy one for yourself, then u can feed him on eba, beans, yam, rice, na u sabi...

we have a rottweiller in our house,we spend less dan 10k a month on d dog and its healthy,with 5k per month u cn take care of a Gsd and I doubt if d op cnt aFford dat.so bro u need to DASH him a dog

I am a very passionate dog lover....If any offer is available for a person to give out a dog or even if I have to pay some amount I won't mind.....
