Me and my friends have argue alot on this issue....as for me, the Medical laboratory scientist is more important....He is the one that carry out diagnosis on the patient....without him, the doctor will be treating rubbish....As for the Medical lab scientist, he sometimes prescribe drugs also....please, fellow Nairalanders, drop your viewpoint on this issue.

Who told u that a doctor can't make a diagnosis without a lab scientists? From patient's history, and physical examinations alone, a good doctor already knows what is wrong with a patient. But since some diseases have similar modes of presentations, a doctor may order for some test to confirm which is which, but most Lab result don't come out until about 5days, so a doctor will use his sound clinical knowledge to treat the most likely of those possibilities. In most cases a doctor will be right and Lab result will be ready when the patient has got well and discharged home. Also note that its not all illness that requires lab investigations
