According to Sia's interview with the NYT, she had originally written "Pretty Hurts" for Perry, but Perry missed her email! The song later went to Rihanna before Beyonce got wind of the track and snapped up the rights to it. After Bey's version gained some traction, Perry sent Sia a text that read: "I'm pretty hurt you never sent me this song." Sia's response? "Check your email."

"Cannonball" by Lea Michele: Sia sat down with Michele shortly after the Glee star lost her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, and ultimately wrote two songs for Michele’s debut album (the second is "If You Say So". "I just felt that 'Cannonball' was the perfect first song for people to hear from this record," Michele told MTV News. "It just really explains where I am right now and it’s been such an inspirational song for me. It's been such a rock, such a source of strength for me." Sia shares writing credit with Benny Blanco on the song.
