Samsung has today unveiled the Galaxy Alpha smartphone. The device is somehow different from what Samsung has been doing previously, except it strikes a resemblance of it's biggest rival's design.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha has a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution. There's a fingerprint sensor with PayPal certification and a heart rare monitor all in tow as expected.

Powering the smartphone is an octa-core Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset with four Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and four Cortex-A7 cores at 1.3GHz. Also in the engine is a 2GB RAM and 32GB storage of non-expandable storage.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha features a 12MP rear camera and a 2.1MP front camera, complete with dual-tone LED flash. The phone is having a removable Li-Ion 1860mAh battery.

Software-wise, Android OS, version 4.4.4 (KitKat) is what powers the smartphone, with TouchWiz user interface on top.
