PAINFUL SONGS
(A collection of Poems in memory and honour of the Late Austyn Njoku – a friend of the Society)
Austyn Njoku was a former national treasurer of the association of Nigerian Authors and a member of the Advisory Council of ANA Lagos. His publishing firm, Jemmie Books is one of the five publishing firms contracted by ANA to handle its newest project the Nigerian Writers Series, Austyn would have clocked 49 years on August 28 this year. Njoku had also worked with the defunct Nigeria Airways for many years before he was retrenched, alongside hundreds of other members of staff, before he started his own book publishing business. During his life time Autyn Njoku authored I have been a crew and Night in Lagos. Austyn Njoku Alongside Tanko Okoduwa paid a courtesy visit to the Society during our 6th edition of our workshop held at the University of Ibadan last year. This is the little the Society can do to immortalize our senior colleague (Austyn Njoku). May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen
Criteria for submissions
1. The Call is opened for young writers between the ages of 15 and 35.
2. Genre – Poetry
3. Minimum of two and maximum of 3 poems
