Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, the consultant physician, who had contracted the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) from the Liberian, Mr. Patrick Sawyer, who imported the virus into Nigeria, is dead.


Sources close to Adadevoh, 58, said she succumbed to the disease Tuesday evening.


Adadevoh led the medical team at First Consultants Medical Centre, a Lagos-based hospital, that treated Sawyer.

She was said to have fallen into a coma on Monday and despite the valiant battle by the medical team to save her, she could not survive the scourge of the disease.


Her passing brings the total number of deaths from the Ebola virus to five in Nigeria.

Thr fraudulent way the govt is managing the information around this Ebola crisis will kill more than the disease itself.
All the report coming out from the office of the health minister are full of half truths and outright lies.
This woman was in coma and they were telling us that she was responding to treatment and all that.
Anyway,considering that this is the govt whose information minister posted few months ago that they had the vaccines for Ebola,I am not surprised.

May God grant the family of the woman the strength to bear the huge loss.

There was never a time this woman was said to be getting better, however, of what use would it have been to you if you had been told that she wasn't getting any better, would you had gone in there to treat her? Moreover, it was posted here that her situation was deteriorating.

RIP Dr. Adadevoh. It's quite unfortunate! May God grant your families the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
