Basketball, Michael Jordan.Maybe.But Bill Russell.We can't disregard him.
He was great.He made the NBA change the rules as regards the key:the time you can spend wthout the ball (3 seconds) and even its area.
He is the greatest defensive player ever in the league.
And he has an astounding 11 titles in his 13-year career.

It's difficult to see him overlooked.I think it's a tie between them (Jordan and Russell).

Track and field.
Lewis admitted to using steriods during the 88 Olympics.That takes him out of the list of athletics greats.For me.That's bringing your sport into disrepute.So you can't be great.
I'd take Jesse Owens:the first quadruple gold medallist at the Olympic games.
Marlene Ottey should get a mention,if not as the greatest female,but one of the all-time greats:seven consecutive olympics from 80-2004.Impressive feat.For me.

I forgot Ottey tested positive once.
Out she goes from that list!!!
