Do you know you can charge your mobile device(ipads, tablets, smart phones) 24hours without exhausting your laptop battery power and there's no side effect.

This can only work on window laptops.

Just put your laptop to "sleep" and close the lid, then plug any of your device. Viola!!! You charge 24hrs.

Tips: don't change the "sleep" settings on any "power options".

Make sure your battery level is 50%-full charged.

It works for most USB phones, but doesn't work for BrickBerries. It usually says something like power source cannot charge phone. It's best used for USB to pin mouth chargers.

And @OP, it consumes laptop power, though very slowly. I can't imagine that so many people didn't know about this until now.

The laptop in question must support sleep and charge feature before the USB can be powered in sleep mode, though most laptops today support it but not all. If yours doesn't support it then there is a work around, just get a usb mouse, better if it's a wireless mouse, plug in its receiver to a USB port and allow Windows to install it's drivers, then go to hardware, mouse settings in control panel and set the mouse to wake up the computer when in sleep mode. You can now put your laptop in sleep mode and switch off the actual mouse using the switch button because a received signal from the mouse will wake up the computer. You can now plug in your usb devices to be charged into any USB port on the laptop PC, the device will then begin charging.
