The Lagos State Government has embarked on the training of about 1,000 secondary school teachers in the state on the effective use of Information Communication Technology (ICT)


Commissioner for Education, Mrs Olayinka Oladunjoye, who disclosed this on Monday said: “In Lagos State, our thinking is that while it is right to build infrastructure, it is even of greater importance to build the capacity of staff who will deliver services to the teeming populace of our State. The reasoning behind this is the fact that only competent and committed teachers teach, not bricks and mortar”

“Hence, the state government’s decision to continuously invest in the education sector through a variety of interventions like the development of physical infrastructure and development of teaching and administrative staff in state public schools” she added.
