Music is part of our everyday life. Nature reflects a rhythmic world and that is why " Trees Clap and Birds Sing". Music has been from the beginning . Do beliefs not even say that angels are beautiful singers and we are created to worship the Creator with music? Music affects both the physical and spiritual world. Music is a culture, symbolising language and communication for all living things. Birds communicate with music, a bee makes a rhythmic dance when announcing the availability of food to the rest of the bee workers, humans express feelings, entertain, communicate, teach moral instructions and celebrate through rhymes and songs, drums, pipes, horns etc. But music has a great benefit that should not be ignored- a healing power.

For as many of us that are in the christian faith, we are conversant with the story of Saul who had an evil spirit and was only soothed by music. Is it restricted to the christian faith alone? Is this healing power irrelevant in today's world? Certainly not! Everybody appreciates good music and can testify that music works on our mind and stirs up all kinds of feelings.

Music is applied as a therapy for ailments and a natural balm to soothe hurting and disturbed minds. Some of these include; Alzheimer, Cancer, Joint Problems, Anxiety, Depression, Dementia, Autism and Personality Disorders. Research shows that hela cancer cells exploded at the sound of musical intervals while healthy cells got stronger and reacted positively and differently to every musical note. And have you not used music at times to get sleep or meditate? Do we not try to connect to the spiritual or metaphysical world through music?

When we make or move to music, energy is created in us. Music is also a good companion when doing exercise. But asides this, listening to music has a great impact on the human body because it monitors the stress hormones, blood levels and the heartbeat. Also, every cell in the body has its own resonant frequency. When combined with other cells they make up a composition like the instruments of an orchestra. Have you ever tried to make a rhythm with your footsteps before or tried listening to your heartbeat? You would realise that even our body organs make sounds too.

Are you a good dancer? What influences your rhythmic moves, is it not music? What happens when you go off beat? Music affects every part of human life. Sounds give atmospheric balance, from car horns to the almost inaudible drop of a pin. I've never come across someone allergic to music. We all love music even though we may have a preferred genre. So, if you are a lover of good music, keep it up. You have a treasure that you should not let go. cool
