The Ondo state Government has named the Osemawe
of Ondo Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Victor Ademefun Kiladejo (jilo 111) as the new
Chairman of the state’s Council of Obas.
The state’s Commissioner for Information, Kayode
Akinmade made this known in a statement issued on
Monday after the state’s Executive Council meeting.
The last time an Osemawe occupied the position of the
Chairman of the state’s council of Obas was in the Old
Ondo state when he functioned between 1994 and
1995,Which happened to be the first to head the oba's council then.
At the inception of the new Ondo State in 1996, the
Olubaka of oka akoko emerged as the Chairman.
He was succeeded by the Abodi of Ikaleland,
The Jegun of Ile-Oluji, Olugbo of Ugbo, Amapetu of Mahin
and the Olowo of Owo later occupied the position
before the late Deji of Akure took over in February
2012. The office however became vacant following the
demise of the Deji in December 2013.
