TOTAL LOSS means the cost to repair after the accident exceeded 75% of the pre-accident value of the car. The insurance company made this determination.


SALVAGE - In most US states, salvage means vehicle is not road worthy and some states would regard the vehicle as junk.

If CARFAX indicated REBUILT, would mean vehicle has been repaired, inspected and restored to operation. Refurbished parts are often used for rebuilt title repairs. There's no indication that this vehicle has a rebuilt title so it's possible it was repaired but not inspected/didn't pass inspection or maybe repaired in Nigeria. Either way, no evidence it passed regulatory inspection in the US after repair.

I would advise you to stay away from this car.

- The VIN must be exactly 17 characters in length.
- The CARFAX database contains information for cars manufactured from 1981 through the present.
