LEARNING OBJECTIVES This course teaches you all you need to know about CCTV, Fire Alarms and Access control Systems.
To do this course you do not need any previous technical skills as you'll be taught from the basics to the very advanced level. At the end of this course, participants would be able to do the following:
• Identify various CCTV, Fire & Access Control components and ancillaries (including different types of CCTV cameras, Lenses, DVRs, Fire Alarm Control Panels, Sensors, Cables & Accessories, Access Control panels, Keypads & Readers, ID cards & Tags, Door Hardware, Accessories e.t.c)
• Install & setup a CCTV network for different scenerios.
• Configure and trouble-shoot some basic CCTV faults.
• Understand various Fire alarm systems and modules including name brands
• Understand how Fire alarms Work.
• Cabling and configurations.
• Installation of Fire alarm systems
• Basic troubleshooting of common faults
• Access Control Systems (different types and brands).
• Access Contrl System Components
• Setting up and configuring Access Control System.
• Installation of Access Control Systems.
STAGE 1 (CCTV)
1. Introduction to CCTV: Generalized introduction to basic CCTV concepts and applications.
2. CCTV Components : Physical identification practical investication of specifications for Cameras, DVRs, Cables & Accessories (Co-axial cables, Twisted Pair cables, BNC Connectors, Baluns...)Power suppliers, Routers, Modems, Switches, Display units and Monitors.
3. Installation: Hands-on practical excercise on Connecting the cameras to DVR, Installing HDD to the DVR, preparing co-axial or twisted pair cables, connecting the cables to BNC or baluns, setting up a basic CCTV system.
4. CCTV Lenses: Concept & Theory of CCTV lenses, selecting the appropriate lens for a particular installation, fixed lens cameras, verifocal lens cameras, Box cameras- with detachable lenses, selecting the appropriate lens for a particular application of camera.
5. Software: Configuring of software and features for DVR operation (scheduling recording,creating user accounts, playback, network settings, using multiple screens, setting date and time, security settings etc..).
6. Back-Up Video/Power : Backing-up the HDD for video, power back-up requirements, installing back-up, inverters, batteries.
7. Remote View Set-up : Network requirements, network set-up topology (connecting the Router, Dvr & Modem). Router configuration, assigning IP Addresses to DVR and other network components, Port forwarding, setting-up Dyn-Dns, PPPoE, remote viewing.
8. Project: Do complete CCTV installation all by yourself with the assistance of your instructor.

STAGE 2 (Fire Alarm & Access Control)
1. Fire Alarm Systems: Manual systems, automatic systems, passive fire protection, active fire protection, zoning.
2. Fire Alarm Components: Control panel, Smoke detectors Combustion detectors, Heat sensors, Alarm siren module.
3. Fire Alarm Control Panel: Coded control panels, conventional control panels, multiplexed systems, mapping(zones, groups, logic) and networking.
4. Fire Alarm Monitoring: System reset, acknowledge, drill,walk test, signal silence
5. Access Control Systems: Introduction to Access Control, types of Access Control, Stand alone Access Control Systems.
6. Access Control Components: Control Panel, KeyPads & Readers, IDcards & Tags, Door Hardware & Accessories.
7. Access Control Installation : Installation of door hardware, software configuration and user account set-up, backend administration, back-up database & power supply.
8. Project: Complete Fire Alarm & Access control installation all by yourself.
