@OP u contradicted urself by putting Saudi Arabia on the list of top 10 worst countries for Females. Just because they are nt allowed to mix indiscrimately wit males and nt allowed to drive themselves does nt mean they degrade dem,it's just dat they value females, they treat dem like gems, they don't want dia females to bcom dogs by sleeping wit different men. Wen u come across a saudi woman without her veil,u'll marvel at the ornaments she's putting on. They don't want dia women to stress demselves by driving so a driver is available to drive ha around infact they don't allow dia women to do any strenous job cos they bliv they are to be revered. Infact I bliv Saudi Arabia shud b the best country for females!

A country that doesnt give women freedom is not a good country for women.

Hence, Saudi is in the list wink

What's your definition of freedom? Do whatever you like?

Every society have their norms and it has to be respected as long as it provides benefit and doesn't cause harm.

My dear, freedom was not mentioned in the OP.

Can you please read again?

i know,

i used freedom as a general term to put my point across.

using the driving issue as an example, how can someone tell a grown woman that they

cant drive or they cant go out without an escort?

not all women like to drive but saying they are not allowed is quiet disrespectful.

Saudi Arabia should not be on that list cox they treat their women like queens (unlike Europe and oda continents that dont respect their women by making them to struggle for themselves) and not in any way deneying their right...thumbs up Saudi Arabia

Yes I agree that it is better here than in some of those countries named there.

But hey it's all or nothing.
No rest until women are recognized world wide as equal to men. That's the goal.

you have completely missed the point.

its not about driving, its about freedom.

let the woman decide if and when she wants to drive, if and when they mix with men.

they are not stupid, they can then make a decision for themselves.

dats freedom.
simple.

Bt Saudi shld nt have ban women frm driving car completely. Some wish dey could drive themselves bt d government will nt agree. That is discrimination that has no origin frm religion, its jus their male chauvinist character. Always tryin to demote female folks to the background.
Yeah I agree with you on this quite alright but these women were not molested nor were they forced into marriage. They were just not allowed to drive cars. I just think it's not right for Saudi to be listed here

Now I know you lack comprehension skill.

I just read the link and it shows the beauty of transparency and beauty of the law. You can't lie or claim someone raped you without evidence.

Something happened to a player here in the US. A lady claimed he raped her and the guy was sentenced loosing his career and life goals. After several years, the lady boasted about how he sent the to jail and someone had it recorded. This was how the guy gained his freedom.

This can NEVER happen in Saudi Arabia with this law.

Show me where it's written in the link that Saudi Arabia under reports ra'pe cases?

Freedom of women to embrace their sexuality and not be judged by their virginity

Chai!
most of these countries are drenched in poverty,i really pity the
female gender a lot as she goes through series of traumatic experiences.
Naija's own hasn't gotten to this extent though.

grin grin

What is the conclusion from this passage about rape in Saudi?

Absence of evidence
It has been pointed that the loose trial rules, as well as the physical evidences, are not presented or declined due to the 4 witnesses rule of Sharia Law.
Lawyer Abdul-Aziz al-Gassem told that Sharia law allows the defendants to deny any signed confession, he further adds that "The lack of transparency in the investigation, the trial and the sentencing, plus the difficulties that journalists have to get access lead to deep a darkness where everything is possible."[8]

tunshe: A list from biased minds!

Placing Saudi Arabia on that list a very wrong submission.

Because Saudi Arabia refuses to allow women mix freely with men? They would have been delisted if they allowed men Bleep women like dogs on streets like here in the US?

A society that caters for women needs, why must a woman drive when male drivers, husband or relatives can take them out when they wish? Is driving a car the priority or getting to your destination?

I see this as a respect to women rather than marginalisation.

Thumbs up to Saudi Arabia for treating women as the most valuable being.

Biko keep quiet dia!! undecided

We are talking bout gender equality!!
If women want to drive, they should be allowed
If women want to hang out with the boys, they should be allowed
If women want to sky dive or climb mountains, they should be allowed
Every human being should be allowed to do whatever they want to!!! Its no ones business

Are all women begging to be treated like handicaps??
Did Saudi Arabia ask for the opinion of women before dishing out the stupid law?? angry

That's your definition of freedom.

In Saudi Arabia, male too have their restrictions.

It's not about feminism or gender, it's about the kind of society they cherish as a people.

Don't try to gain sentiments from ladies here.

Do you all agree that a woman is a God, and an equal partner to a man. man and womb man= man with a womb= wo(mb)man\ woman. carrying the house of life. do you know that in islam, woman ought to be more educated in all sphere of life than the man (when you teach a man, you teach one person but when a women is taught, you teach a nation). a woman is a God because, till when her child or children reach the age of maturity, the child's mother is his God, and it is permitted by GOD to be so. we can a little child knows GOD better than the grown ups (what a pity). do you know that when you treat your woman with love, care and life. you children will turnout to be Gods? love for a child's mother by his father gives him confidence and life. I shall love and respect women all my days. and to those that mistreat women, you have but a short day left. and to those that have mistreated intentionally, i pray GOD should punish you accordingly.

Telling me to keep quiet is rude!

Is there gender equality in Nigeria where you live?

When we have a female governor or President in Nigeria, then your point will be considered for discussion.
