English League football resumes after the close of the transfer window and the recent international break.

Arsenal fans would be hoping Danny Welbeck makes an instant impact at the Emirates after his 2 goals for England downed Switzerland to give England a 2 nil away win on Monday night. The England Striker is set to make his Arsenal debut after deadline day deal saw him swap Old Trafford for Emirates Stadium after the arrival of Colombia’s talisman Radamel Falcao.

The English International was a frustrating figure at Old Trafford and the Arsenal fans will be hoping he gets his confidence and composure and also more consistency under Arsene Wenger’s tutelage but he couldn’t have asked for a more difficult start to life in London. It would be really interesting to see whether the Manchester United youth product rises to challenge in his new club.

Arsenal would be hoping for a better performance after a rather unimpressive performance against Leicester City before the International break. The 2 sides met just before the start of the season in the Community Shield game with Arsenal running out 3-0 winners. But the gunners haven’t had the best of starts with 5 points from 3 games so far.

However, Arsenal will be hoping for more good news as Laurent Koscielny (concussion), Mesut Ozil (ankle knock), Mikel Arteta (thigh), Kieran Gibbs (hamstring) should all be available after recent injuries and reports Aaron Ramsey may have also picked up a knock during Wales 2-1 win at Albania. But, Wales Boss, Chris Coleman was quick to play down rumours of a long term injury saying, “Ramsey twisted his ankle and got a kick. Hopefully he’ll be ok for Arsenal at weekend”.

Manchester City on the other hand will be hoping to get back to winning ways after a surprise loss at the home to Stoke City on day 3 of the Premier League. The Etihad side who would be without in form Montenegrin striker, Stevan Jovetic, would be hopeful that star striker, Sergio Aguero gets back to scoring ways and power them to victory against Arsenal who hasn’t lost a game in over a year at the Emirates Stadium.

Former Arsenal defender, Bacary Sagna who made his debut in the home loss to Stoke City would be hoping to get a start to play against his former team in the lunch time kick off at the Emirates stadium.

Both Teams however, would be looking to get the maximum points after a couple of mixed results to be able to mount pressure on Chelsea who host inform Swansea later on in the EPL.

Chelsea vs Swansea

Top of the table clash as both teams stay on top of the table with 3 wins from 3 games so far and both teams have had excellent performances in their opening games with Chelsea winning a 9 goal thriller against Everton with some impressive performances from Cesc Fabregas and notably 2 goal hero Diego Costa who was left out of Spain’s Euro Qualifying win with an injury knock.

Swansea on the other side won convincingly against West Ham United and Garry Monk’s side have been the surprise team of the EPL with Gylfi Sigurdsson playing a big part in the team’s success as well as Nathan Dyer who has scored 3 goals so far. With 4 assists and a goal, the Icelandic international is having a productive and excellent season in the Welsh side

Chelsea boasts the best attack in the EPL while Swansea (along with Aston Villa) have the best defence and it will be interesting to see which team comes out top in this mouth watering encounter.

Despite their start and defensive record, it is impossible to see Swansea come away with the 3 points at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea should be strong enough to see off the challenge posed by Garry Monk’s side and despite the injury to Diego Costa, the addition of Loic Remy and Legend Didier Drogba should prove to be much more stronger for the Welsh side to cope with.
