CHEERS is a non-for-profit organization officially registered with the Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC) with headquarters in Abuja – FCT and state offices in Anambra, Enugu, Kaduna, Kebbi, Nasarawa, Oyo, and Plateau States. The organization is also registered with Association of Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria (AONN), Civil Society Network on HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (CISHAN) and Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) FCT. The organization envisions an informed healthy and poverty free community”. In achieving its vision, CHEERS have in the past 8 years, implemented development projects on HIV/AIDS prevention, Care & Support, Education, Economic Empowerment and Social Security. Over the years, the organization has gathered expertise in;
 Creating demands for health care services especially in areas of HCT and PMTCT.
 Community mobilization and awareness creation.
 Increasing access to social security
 Economic strengthening especially with vulnerable groups (Women & Children, girl child, PWD and PLWHA.

In furthering its project activities; CHEERS is seeking to recruit State Coordinators for its Anambra and Enugu state offices.


Job Title: State Coordinator
Location: Anambra and Enugu State
Experience: 2 - 5years
Job Field: Administration/Project Management, NGO/Non-Profit.
Qualification: HND/BSC.
Open date: September 20, 2014.
Closing date: September 29, 2014.


Duties and Responsibilities:
 Provide oversight for entire CHEERS Program --- including day-to-day activities, development, promotion and implementation.
 Coordinate project activities including analyzing project needs, developing and monitoring work plans and timelines.
 Establish relationship and represent CHEERS at stakeholders meeting in the state.
 Coordinate trainings for staff and stakeholders CHEERS is working with.
 Advocate support of project activities.
 Identify and review system problems.
 Writing progress and evaluation reports.

Requirements:
A candidate with minimum of first degree in health and social works is preferred.

Experience:
Three to five years minimum progressive NGO experience with specific training in the area of health, education, economic empowerment and human rights. Demonstrated experience in supervisory position and knowledge in monitoring and community services is highly desired.

Important Skills and Characteristics:
 Excellent and demonstrated written and oral communications,
 Strong interpersonal and public speaking skill,
 Ability to work productively in fast-paced environment with multiple, competing deadlines
 Ability to work under minimal supervision,
