Chelsea the league leader will square up on Sunday ,October 5;2014 at Stamford bridge,Chelsea dissmised Aston Villa 3-0,while Arsenal could only managed 1-1 draw with Tottenham, thanks to Ox equaliser.Arsenal will need to curtail Diego Costa, who is the leading scorer with eight goals..
Arsenal needs to wake up because the team is six points behind Chelsea..

Chelsea v Arsenal: Can Wenger break the Mourinho curse?

It probably wouldn't be recommended to mention this to Jose Mourinho, but the man who scrunched up the formbook when it comes to Chelsea versus Arsenal was not actually him.
Mourinho might appear to have put some kind of curse on Wenger (the latter has never beaten the former in 11 attempts) but it was not the cocksure Portuguese who was in charge for the moment that flipped the nature of this fixture. That was Claudio Ranieri, his benevolent Italian predecessor.
Such is Chelsea's dominance over Arsenal these days, it's hard to believe that not so long ago the situation was completely reversed.
In the early Wenger years, Arsenal enjoyed a spell where they went 17 Premier League games without loss against the team from Stamford Bridge. They also had the upper hand in the FA Cup during that period, knocking Chelsea out in four successive seasons.
Then came the pivotal moment. In the spring of 2004 - which coincided with Roman Abramovich's decision to invite Mourinho, then the bullish manager of Porto, on to this yacht in Monte Carlo and thus giving the impression that Ranieri was a dead manager walking on the Kings Road - Chelsea shocked Arsenal in the Champions League with a late strike from former England left-back Wayne Bridge.
The hoodoo was over. "I am mad with joy," bubbled Ranieri afterwards.
This from a manager who had previously travelled across the capital to Highbury on the tube to watch Arsenal in the Champions League when Chelsea had not been regular qualifiers in the competition.
Strange though it may now seem, back then the managers of the two clubs had an amiable regard for one another. Coincidentally or not, Mourinho has never taken to either of them.
For Wenger, looking back over his 18-year span in London, this particular fixture can be split into two very distinct chapters, with that Bridge goal as the turning point.
Since then, trips across London to SW6 have been mostly very dispiriting for the Arsenal manager. That downturn reached its nadir six months ago.
Wenger was devastated by last season's harrowing trip to Stamford Bridge; the script could not have been any more excruciating.
After the big build up in anticipation of his 1,000th match as Arsenal manager, Chelsea eviscerated his team and the Blues supporters mocked Wenger by reprising one of Mourinho's callous one liners, chanting "specialist in failure" at him.
The experience proved to be the lowest of the low. "It was a massive, massive disappointment," Wenger says on the eve of his return to the scene of the crime. "I will never forget that day."
It was worse, somehow, than another defeat with a landmark feel about it, when Arsenal were thrashed 8-2 at Old Trafford in 2011 with a severely depleted team. "When we lost there we had no team on the day. We had nobody at the back so that was explainable," he says.
"The players will want to put things right at Chelsea after last season and will be up for it on the day."
So how do you block out sour memories? How do you alleviate any fear or a repetition? According to Wenger, it is all in the spirit of being a competitor. One thing Wenger refuses to do is feel defeatist as he journeys back into Chelsea territory.
He is adamant there is no need to dwell on the past. "Why?" he asks. "In life you must always think you are there to change what happened before, or you are fatalistic. A competitive guy is somebody who wants to make history and change what happened before. We have an opportunity to do that."
Preferred line-up

Goalkeeper

Chambers – Mertesacker – Koscielny – Gibbs

Flamini – Coquelin

Oxlade – Ozil– Sanchez

Welbeck

You too should try to park your own bus....

Ball posession was 47 vs 53

It wasn't 20 versus 80

So no one parked any bus.

The team looking to requalize has 53%. So no bus parking. That's the problem with arsenal fans, they won't admit defeat when they know their team is struggling. Sore loosers

na arsenal fans dey bring problems upon their team. yesterday, one swear with his life say hazard no go do anything today because they have chambers bus stop.
when the game started, chambers was enjoying himself they fans were celebrating him until he got his first yellow card and escaped the second. the same hazard brought the needed magic of which koscieny escaped a red card.
later on in the game, even at 1-0 down, arsenal fans began to ask me where is Costa? they said he is a biscuit soaked in water and they called him all sorts of names and within 5 mins, he made his first impact and later connected with Fabregas pass to put the nail on their coffin.
lesson of today's game, do not talk because others are talking. chelsea has arsenal's master plan. we have the power to enjoy arsenal from any angle we choose to. na our wife them be.

They were asking me where Costa was until he replied them. Arrogant plastic club

If all teams parked the bus, football will be a boring game and no one will watch.

when i read some comments, i usually faint and when i wake up, i will continue asking myself how ppl reason. a team that parks trailer had more shots on target, off target and more goals. is football all about playing the round leather with no ambition? how do u win a trophy without winning games? then how do u win games without scoring goals?
Mourinho's points of football are; if u cannot score them, they MUST NOT score u. no wonder on the days he does not beat wenger, he will get draw. before i continue, i want u to read this about football;

Football is really simple and easy to understand. It starts with a ball, which is round. There are two teams, each trying to win. The objective is to kick the ball into the opposite team's net, scoring a goal. At the end of 90 minutes, the team with the most goals wins.

http://soccercommunity.nuvvo.com/lesson/1717-what-is-football-soccer.

what did chelsea do wrong? sanchez escaped red card for hitting the goalkeeper. chambers escaped second yellow for pushing schurle and welbeck escaped a direct red card for that anger laden dangerous two legs kick at fabregas.

you can only accept one thing here; that was nothing but 3 points. move on and stop giving unreasonable excuses. wenger reduced himself to a soar looser yesterday.

for sometime now, wenger has been a fan of troubled players as in he only buy players who have issues with their clubs. carzola was a product of malaga financial issues. ozil needed to run away from Bale's competition and sanchez was looking for regular shirt. welbeck is below man u standard according van gaal. you need to look at ur team and think where there is weakness and look for a replacement like Mourinho did in the summer. last season, he was complaining about lack of strikers and today, he bought strikers and u will agree with me that chelsea are not only league leaders, they are the leading goal scorers and league top scorer is the new striker. fabregas is making waves because his assists have been consistent.

if that game continued yesterday, Ozil will faint, and over 7 players will be sent off and chelsea will continue doing what they know how to do best - scoring and not allowing arsenal to score.

Am an arsenal fan. Yes Wenger found arsenal in a financially difficult position due to the loan for the new stadium and I tell you, if not for his ability to manage situation, Arsenal would have had to sell majority of his players thereby making the club to go down even to relegation which Morinho cannot do just like Leeds United. Morinho only knows how to spend without making financial gains for the club. If Morinho were to be in the situation Wenger found himself, the club would have sunk down the water.
However, for a particular Wenger not to be able to beat Morinho in so many matches, I think its high time he resigned because the fans matter to the success of the club but they haven't gotten what they want.

That does not change the fact that against Man City who was a man down, a two hundred million pounds team was still parking the bus.

Why spend so much to park the bus? You do not need skills for that?

uncle, are u just writing to be noticed or are u hear to make sense and discuss the game of football.
mourinho as a coach has done this same thing to this same wenger 7 times and drawing 5 times. chelsea as it is has scored more goals than any team in england and has conceded few hence the best goal difference. if all these come from parking buses and under the fifa laws, there is nothing wrong with parking buses or even trailers then so be it. what are u crying for? the owner of nairaland cannot change these records and ccannot help ur backwardness so take ur complains to fifa or uefa. to be on the safe side, go and read the definition of football online. two teams struggling to put the ball inside the net of the opponents and stopping their opponents from scoring. we scored two times and refused u guys making any attempt. how is that a crime?
if you think chelsea is doing the wrong things, make it official with fifa, who knows, they might change the rule so that whenever arsenal players have the ball, chelsea players will start clapping for them till they score. if the other 18 teams in england park buses, u will not win anybody abi?
abeg, who be our next victim?
