From a noble home came this beauty
Who took to the road so obscured and filthy
The daughter of who you are you must remember
That’s mother’s warning from January to December

From papa’s pipe emerged the warning smoke
The calabash she once broke earned her many strokes
Encomium showered on her by several mouths
For moments she gallantly did the village proud

Now, Ashake set for the city adorned with light
Shedding hot tears as she evacuated that cold night
Will I see this same star standing next to the moon?
I will definitely miss the river-way gist each noon

She questioned in her mind with teary eyes
As her luggage was attached to the wagon so tight
The wagon zoomed towards the city of several miles
May the gods be with you, the villagers chorused as they cried

Ajegunle! The conductors chorused with their dark lips
Exactly, the noise that woke her from her deep sleep
Quickly, she reached for her luggage at the back
And the village goodies-filled sack

Time flies, nothing lasts till eternity
She honourably made it to the varsity
Amidst the big girls, mother’s words were set on fire
And from the teachings of her father, she stupidly retired

Like a coin, she was tossed from hand to hand
It is her profession to get laid even by gang
She sold to them products that shouldn’t be bought
Night dealers, after her they firmly sought

The wooden wagon is back again under the dark sky
It conveyed someone devoid of life
Gently, the wooden box was lowered to the underground home
Inside it lays eternally the one-time epitome of beauty.
